* I believe the opposite, its simply RAND.RAND.RAND.RAND. NBC puts up a fake website, invites viewers to hit it, provides links to password protected pages, then threatens to go after their viewers when they follow the links? It's asking for a lawsuit. Besides, all that information is logged behind the scenes on every web server anyway - bouncing a warning message to the users makes you think you "got caught" by the AWI. --Orne 19:27, 30 January 2007 (EST)

** I agree. It's just fake so people don't freak out thinking that they're logging their actual IPs.--Hardvice <small>(talk)</small> 19:31, 30 January 2007 (EST)

** It may be fake, but it's not rand.rand.rand.rand because it (seems to be) the same every time for a given address. But yeah, I could be way too paranoid. :-) MrSparkle 19:33, 30 January 2007 (EST)

Orne, did you actually enter the correct code, or did you hack the page? I just had a thought that they may have booby-trapped the site to check the "referrer" attribute. I don't really think so, but it isn't impossible. -- Cuardin 15:06, 22 January 2007 (EST)

I just checked what was in that urldecode function in the page source. I'm not about to go sending my phone # to an unknown "text service". --Orne 16:06, 22 January 2007 (EST)
The unknown text service at the phone number and at the career opportunities page are one and the same. Filling in a mobile number and selecting a provider results in the same text as entering your mobile number on the 800 number. Luckily for all of us, they seem to follow the opt-in mechanisms which the carriers seem to mandate (a reply text must be sent to opt-in to future notifications). Jtatum 13:41, 23 January 2007 (EST)

"primatechpaper.org"

I noticed that some of what used to be on the primatechpaper.org page is gone now. I distinctly remember seeing strange products (including what I think were panties in one picture) that had the primatech logo printed on them. For the life of me I can't find that stuff anymore. I'm guessing that, now that NBC is starting to put stuff on their own primatech page they put the beat down on whomever has that other page and told them to get rid of the tomfoolery.--E rowe 15:11, 22 January 2007 (EST)

"Trying to crack..."

Uhm... how exactly should one interprate the message from that direct link: http://primatech.mlogic.mobi/info.jsp "Trying to crack into this thing. I’ll let you know how when I do. Give me about a week." -- Cuardin 15:21, 22 January 2007 (EST)

Oh, I just thought it was funny. Kind of shows that the site is a phony. Cool. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:25, 22 January 2007 (EST)
I dunno... almost reminds me of the beginning of the Lost ARG... Anomy 15:31, 22 January 2007 (EST)
Yeah, it does. They're going to put up all these sites that look legitimate and then "hackers" are going to be responsible for "leaks" on the website or something. :) (Admin 15:35, 22 January 2007 (EST))
Rumor is the hacker is Hana --Orne 16:46, 22 January 2007 (EST)

Type 2

Type 2 gives you an email with this response: "Thank you for your interest in Primatech Paper and taking the time to complete our employee application.

We are always interested in unique individuals with special abilities to help us provide the best service to our many clients.

Please retain this email for your records. A Primatech Paper representative will be contacting you in a few weeks with the next steps." So it appears that Type 1 gives the response on this article's main page. Type 2 gives the above, and Type 3 gives below.

Type 3

This is what you get when you answer four or more of the questions as Type 3. Apparently, if you choose one of the other two types, you are considered for a job opening, because a friend of mine got a different email message.

Thank you for your interest in Primatech Paper and taking the time to complete our employee application. Unfortunately, after reviewing your submission, we don't have any openings that match your skill-set at this time. You are always welcome to re-apply at a later date. Cleanup

This article needs some big-time cleanup. It reads more like notes on working the website than an article. Clearer section headings (and removing some parenthetical information) should go a long way.--Hardvice (talk) 01:46, 30 January 2007 (EST)

C002 & C003

I couldn't get access to C002 & C003, and just wondering since I've not seen any information pertaining to it on any website, if anyone was able to access the information. PureSoldier 10:18, 30 January 2007 (EST)

I don't think the content exists yet. The images shown on C001 and C004 (/images/C001_photo.jpg) are part of the site's main image directory (and thus not password protected). No such images exist for 002 and 003, implying the content isn't there yet. MrSparkle 19:16, 30 January 2007 (EST)

IP Address Phenomenon

I noticed that when you fail to enter valid passwords on the site you get a usual "access denied, IP address logged." The interesting thing is the IP address displayed is incorrect. I have confirmed this with a number of people, the address is always wrong. My wife has attempted some simple math on the addresses on paper and haven't come up with anything. Either is an ultrasupersecretcodeofdoom, or we're just paranoid. MrSparkle 19:18, 30 January 2007 (EST)
