Interview with Jason and Mark
This is just a little premature, but I wanted to get everybody thinking about it. Jason Badower and Mark Sable have agreed to do an combined interview. We will be doing a conference call on Tuesday evening, September 11, at 8 pm EST. Questions should focus mostly on the Blackout series, but I don't think there's any harm in other peripheral questions. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 12:02, 22 August 2007 (EDT)
Interview Questions
- Mark, how did you prepare / what insight did you get from the Heroes people for writing the GN series?
* Jason, will you be coloring this or will Annette be? If you are, will your darker color schemes work with the aptly-named title of the series?--Bob 16:36, 22 August 2007 (EDT) This kind of got answered.--Bob 06:02, 5 September 2007 (EDT)
- Any idea when Blackout occurs timeline-wise? --DocM 08:51, 4 September 2007 (EDT)
- Jason, you mentioned in your blog how you don't like sound effects. Do you dislike "power-related" sound-effects or just effects in general when you draw? (My personal favorite)--Bob 06:02, 5 September 2007 (EDT)
- Mark, you sort of allude to this in your post at the 9thwonders.com boards. My questions for both of you regard the scripts for these GNs, the others you (Jason) did, and other non-Heroes related works in general. How long is it, words and page wize? How much of it is directions for the artist and/or scene and action description? How much makes it to the finished product? Are you two at liberty to divulge an excerpt of any script/bit of GN that can illustrate the answers to the previous questions?--SacValleyDweller 18:58, 5 September 2007 (EDT)
- When thinking of graphic novel characters like the dying patient, how do you relate the power of electromagnetism to him? Is there a certain time, when when writing them, that you match up a power with their personality?--Jason Garrick (talk) 21:18, 6 September 2007 (EDT)
- Did Mark send Jason a finished script all at once, or was it piecemealed (page by page?) to him? Did Mark see the finished work before it got sent in?--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:31, 6 September 2007 (EDT)
- Did the teenage patient cause all the blackouts or just the last one? How did the virus affect his power?
- Talking points: fan reactions; "shoonk"; collaboration
- In the graphic novels (Walls, Part 1) and (Walls, Part 2), Heroes fans were introduced to a new character who had the power of Electromagnetism at the Moab Federal Penitentiary(2 years in the future). Is there any connection between him, and your new hospital patient from (Blackout, Part 1)? --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 09/8/2007 23:34 (EST)
Question for Ryan
Are they illustrating different issues, or are they contributing together to make the entire series? I'm a little confused since Mark hasn't done anything yet for Heroes, so I was unfamiliar with him. Thanks.--Bob 15:43, 22 August 2007 (EDT)
- The story is two parts. Mark wrote the whole thing and Jason is illustrating the whole thing. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:21, 22 August 2007 (EDT)
- Thanks.--Bob 16:36, 22 August 2007 (EDT)
