Caitlin has the power of electricity.	None.	+ In Petrified Lightning, Caitlin shares a story of how a hero was able to call on the powers of his mermaid love by saying her name; likewise, when Peter does the same, and calls Caitlin's name, electricity flows freely, just like how the mermaid gave her power to her hero. - Caitlin herself provides an interpretation: "she showed him his own power". + Caitlin wasn't surprised, scared, or harmed when the electrical arcs danced to and all around her. • She had already seen Peter's ability before, and she knew he was a good guy. • Peter acquired electricity from Elle in Four Months Ago.
Caitlin will die of the virus in the future. Caitlin will be the main focus of Peter in a race against time.	After he arrives back in the main time line without her, he will have to save her before the "Shanti Virus" problem is solved. If not, the 'possible future' time line she is stuck in, will cease to exist and her along with it. She will then become the first "time line" casualty.	• In some strange twist of fate Peter will have to go back to a time when the Shanti virus outbreak was still a possible future in order to go forward in time and rescue her. • This will of course happen after Mohinder shoots H.R.G. and when he returns things play out a bit differently... • Peter may not need to rescue her, if she simply reappears in Times Square in 2008.
Caitlin cannot be rescued.	The timeline been changed and she wasn't rescued before it happened.	+ Now that the virus has been stopped, Caitlin's future is not Peter's future. She cannot be saved because Peter now can't go there by moving through time. - When Hiro left Ando to save Charlie, the timeline around Ando changed, with Ando still remembering the alternate timeline. What if Caitlin will witness the same, timeline changing around her?
Caitlin no longer exists.	None.	+ With the Outbreak future no longer viable (due to Peter's destruction of strain 138), and the outbreak itself never happening, Caitlin was left in a time line that never happens, which would wipe her from existence. - Caitlin was left in a time line that can no longer be accessed. According to string theory, that timeline will still exist, but it just can't be accessed from the current timeline. - If Peter travels to the past where the virus exists then goes in that past's future, he may reach that timeline. It's like going upstream until the river splits and swim through the other stream.
Caitlin still exists and now lives in a future where the Shanti virus was not released.	None.	+ When Hiro went back in time to change history, Ando remembered the original timeline. Apparently some people can be made immune to changes in history. • Maybe its because Ando was near Hiro when he teleported it gave him a bit of immunity to the timeline reset. • If this is true, then once the timeline reaches June 2008, Peter will be able to see her again. • But would she have any memory of the virus outbreak? To adapt to the current timeline, she would remember being with Peter one second, then poof, travel into June 2008. - That future is now in the main Heroes timeline. Caitlin is probably still in the one where the virus was released and no longer exists in the main Heroes dimension.
Caitlin will come back as a primary antagonist.	None.	+ It would be a very interesting plot twist. + She could want to get revenge on Peter for forgetting about her.
Peter has forgotten his mission to save Caitlin.	None.	+ He hasn't talked about her once since the beginning of season 3.
Caitlin still exists, in the Outbreak future, but, in another dimension. The timeline she exists in, is where Adam released the virus. Therefore, she is not in the Heroes dimension we follow.	The most adapted theory of time traveling in Heroes is the multiverse theory.	+ This could be a reason why we don't see Caitlin anymore. • If this is true, then once the timeline reaches June 2008, we won't see Caitlin, because she's not in the dimension of Heroes we follow.
The writers will never bring up Caitlin again.	The Volume called "Exodus" where her fate was supposed to be revealed, has been canceled.	+ Many series do these things. Erase characters like they never had an impact on any of the other characters' lives. + The series The L Word did this with one of their characters, because her contract ended.
Caitlin will get space-time manipulation.	She is trapped in the future and needs to get back.	+ Maybe her need to get back to the present will cause a manifestation of space-time manipulation. + Abilities have been known to base themselves around people's situations.
Caitlin died the second the Outbreak future was altered.	None.
Caitlin will return in Volume 4.	None.	+ All Peter has to do is travel into the past right before he and Caitlin went into the outbreak future. If he changes that it won't really impact anything, since when Peter left the outbreak future in the first place he didn't know Adam was bad not until Nathan shows up any way. So Peter could just push Caitlin out of the way and his past self can still time travel to Shanti or not at all since seeing the outbreak future didn't change anything. - His future self said he stepped on too many butterflies, Peter isn't dumb enough to do the same mistake. - Peter can had the ability to timetravel stolen. - Even if Peter could, he'd find a way to mess things up, he's acts on his heart rather then his brain. - In interviews, writers stated that they decided not to bring Caitlin's storyline back due to the big gap the Writer's Strike left between seasons two and three, as they thought it wouldn't be worth bringing such a plotline back after such a long time. • The fact for Peter's main impact is the need of Nathan's arrival which happens despite anything else.	Caitlin will return in Volume 5 or a summer graphic novel.	A few season two characters have already been braught back in the Rebel arc of the Graphic novels and will probably appear next season.
