Theory Citations Notes
Lyle is also adopted and also has an ability, but has been far better at hiding it than his sister. None. In a deleted scene for Nothing to Hide, Claire makes a comment to Lyle, saying, "Sometimes it's nice to know that we're both adopted."
He can be adopted and not necessarily have an ability.

It's possible he is an evolved human whose power hasn't surfaced yet. He is younger than Claire, and she only discovered her power a year ago in the continuity. Others (Nathan, Peter, Hiro, et al.) discovered their powers at much older ages.

It's possible that any of the characters are evolved humans who's power hasn't surfaced yet.

+ After witnessing his older sister going through all kinds of problems, he has a good reason to keep it a secret, even from his own parents.
+ Noah has said that he and his wife were having problems conceiving a child (Company Man) so it's plausible that Lyle is not their biological child either.

Noah has said that, when he was given Claire, he and Sandra had been having trouble conceiving a child "at the time," (Seven Minutes to Midnight) possibly indicating that they didn't have trouble later on.

- It's unlikely that this would never be mentioned by the Bennets.

+ The Bennets may feel that he is too young or immature to know.

- It is unlikely that was never mentioned by any member of the Company.

- The company knows that Noah lied to them about Claire, they would try to get both, to run test and find out what they can do.
He will betray Claire or Noah. None. + He was very eager to tell about Claire's secret when he found out.
- He was in shock.
- This was before he learned of the Company's existence.

+ His father "died" because of Claire, mostly.
+ He lost a lot because of Claire.

- He would lose even more.

+ He may feel neglected because Claire is special. We rarely see him on screen.

- It may be just a casting limitation.
Lyle was not adopted and was injected with powers. None. + Nathan and others were given their abilities. Noah may not want to say anything until Lyle shows, and he has a history of not telling the truth about these things.
Lyle will try to get a hold of another formula with the help of Hiro or Peter to go back in time and give himself a power. None. - Lyle most likely doesn't even know there is a power giving formula.

- Hiro's ability to manipulate time is uncertain, and it's unknown if Peter can with the debate on which abilities he got back.
