Talk:Lyle Bennet
Adoption
The lead sentence for this page says, "While Claire was adopted, Lyle's adoptive status is unclear, as is the nature of their genetic relationship." Is that still true, or have we learned for certain that Lyle is the Bennets' biological son? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:58, 2 July 2007 (EDT)
- Still true, as far as I know. --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 00:22, 10 July 2007 (EDT)
- I agree, we'll need a dna test to be sure. For all we know, Lyle could be Claude's and Sandra's...eww, the plot would thicken then.--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:31, 10 July 2007 (EDT)
- Shouldn't it be reworded. We do know Claire and Lyle's genetic relationship...they don't have one. What we don't know is if Lyle has a genetic relationship with Noah and Sandra Bennet. --Meteor
- I removed that part of the sentence. It sounded like somebody was trying to slip in a theory that Claire and Lyle are brother and sister...or it was just poorly worded. In either case, it's not needed. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:52, 1 September 2007 (EDT)

- I remember on one of the deleted scenes on the DVDs--after Lyle finds out about Claire's power, they have a discussion in a room w/ glass doors right by the kitchen, and Claire says something like "Good thing we're both adopted." I don't own the DVDs, so perhaps someone who does can cite this. I think this can be taken at face value, b/c it was more like an edited scene for the sake of time, not b/c the writers changed their mind on that detail. Elahrairah 03:22, 26 October 2007 (EDT)
Returning?
Any confirmation on whether he'll be returning, and using the same actor? It makes sense that he would return, but ya never know.--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:27, 10 July 2007 (EDT)
Lyle is adopted
-It is said in a deleted scene of Nothing to Hide, when Claire says to Lyle, "Sometimes it's nice to know that we're both adopted." --Jason Garrick 00:19, 15 September 2007
- Yeah, I'm curious why that scene was cut. I kind of wish there was a commentary for some of the deleted scenes. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:24, 15 September 2007 (EDT)
- Maybe they decided against making him adopted. In Seven Minutes to Midnight, Mr. Bennet says that when he adopted Claire, he and Sandra had been having troule concieving "at the time." Conduit 13:12, 22 September 2007 (EDT)
- I don't think so; it was a time-based edit from the scene that made it drag. Also, in "Company Man," Kaito Nakamura also receives confirmation that the Bennets have been unable to conceive. Elahrairah 03:34, 26 October 2007 (EDT)
- Oddly enough, the writers comment on this in one of Comic Book Resources Behind the Eclipse interviews:
| Timothy writes in with a question about a deleted scene on the DVD. "In the deleted scenes for Season 1, Episode #7, it was revealed that Lyle Bennett was also adopted. While it's a deleted scene, should it be considered canon? And if he was adopted, can you say whether he was adopted traditionally or in a more unconventional manner like Claire? I'm guessing it wouldn't have been too unconventional, since Claire would probably have been old enough at the time to be aware of her Mom being pregnant or not." That's an excellent question, Timothy. It hasn't come up yet in our discussions, but I think as a rule – we only consider aired scenes as part of canon, for the following reason: we don't want to hold anyone accountable for seeing the DVD extras to enjoy the show. So for now, consider Lyle's true parentage undetermined. |

Where has he been?
He hasn't been in the last few episodes, nor has he been mentioned. I checked Imdb and he isn't listed for any more episodes. Whats going on with his character, did they just write him out? I hope not. Also where has Mr. Muggles been? Does anyone have any info on the matter?--Cairoi 15:00, 10 December 2008 (EST)
