Just a quick update: I sent all the above concerns to the producer on Monday. He hasn't gotten back to me, but I don't expect him to. I can't say if anything will be done, or if the suggestions will be seriously considered. I'd like to think that G4 takes input from their fans seriously, but I'm not really involved in the planning and production, so I can't say. Anyway, this week will feature Dana Davis. Guest hosts are David Deas from the-OWI.com and Eric Anderson from HeroesTv.com. Enjoy! -- 22:53, 7 November 2007 (EST)

* Thanks Ryan for forwarding my suggestions. Looks like I'm not going to be able to see last week's show (no one has told me they would post it, and it's not going to be put on their website), but it's still great that you were able to guest host and promote our site.--MiamiVolts (talk) 22:57, 7 November 2007 (EST)

Reairing on the web

Any word of this? Thanks.--Bob (talk) 01:46, 31 October 2007 (EDT)

• Yes. Exclusive rights. Here's the official press release they sent me. I'm not sure why I can't find it online anywhere.
G4 will debut "Heroes" with all-day marathons of season one episodes on Saturday, October 27 and Sunday, October 28. The network will begin airing episodes from the current season with a mini-marathon of the first six episodes of "Heroes" season two on Saturday, November 3 from 5:00-11:00pm et/pt. G4 will then regularly air each week's current episode of "Heroes" on Saturdays at 10:00pm et/pt.

Additionally, G4 will present a live, half-hour "Heroes" wrap-up show immediately following each regularly scheduled episode. "The Post Show," premiering Saturday, November 3 at 11:00pm et/pt, will feature multiple interactive and web-enabled elements, including live chats and polls, exclusive interviews with cast and crew members and tips on what to look for in upcoming episodes. G4 has also obtained exclusive cable rights to stream the series on the network's popular web site, G4tv.com. G4 gains free VOD rights for "Heroes" in 2010.

In addition to experiencing all new episodes of Heroes, G4 viewers can take part in a live and interactive post-show after each episode where fans will be able to use web cams and instant messaging to join in a live discussion, voice their opinions and provide theories on how future episodes will play out.

• So it's live online, or will I be able to watch it later online? Kinda confusing.--Bob (talk) 01:53, 31 October 2007 (EDT)
• That press release makes it sound as if just the show Heroes will be webstreamed. I guess we'll just have to tune in to find out, but judging by the lack of reply I'm expecting to be disappointed.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:57, 31 October 2007 (EDT)
• Oh, I didn't think of that. I assumed that "streaming" meant you could get it when you wanted. I guess it's not very clear, is it? Dunno, really. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:58, 31 October 2007 (EDT)
• I think they might air Zeroes on the NBC channel. They asked Diana to go on it I think. I'll double check with her. Jason Garrick 21:21, 1 November 2007 (EDT)

That was a little underwhelming.

I gotta say, The Post Show was good, which surprised me since G4 is one of the ten worst channels on TV, but I thought it was a little underwhelming. I was expecting alot more than they gave us. Granted, this was the very first episode, and it probably needs a little bit of growing, but I wanted more than they gave. The only real info stated that I didn't already know about from here was Jack's little hint about Adam Monroe. If I had to rate this show right now, I'd give it about a 6 out of 10, overall. --Avenger 23:37, 3 November 2007 (EDT)

• Personally, I think it's biggest problem is that it's got to fit into essentially 20 minutes or so (allotting about 10 minutes for commercials). Most podcasts are at least two to three times that long. So it'll probably be a bit rushed unless they lengthen it to 60 minutes. (Admin 23:40, 3 November 2007 (EDT))
• G4's contract with NBC stipulates that they have at least one cast or crew member every week. I can't go into details about who is appearing and who is not appearing, but there will be different interviews each week. I liked both interviews with Tim and Jack. The producer would like to see more writers and directors on the show, which I think would be really cool for fans to see and hear. Typically, the best insights and spoilers come from the talent that creates the show, not the talent that performs it. I'm curious to see what happens next week. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:09, 4 November 2007 (EDT)
• Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it, too. Hopefully my previous comment came off as a compliment, not a criticism... I think G4 needs to make the show even longer which is a good thing. :) That way they can spend more time talking to each person. Ryan, you probably got only slightly less time than Tim Kring did! :) I thought your segment was very well done and well articulated. I hope they ask you to come back. I think it'd be really neat if they took the people that did well on camera and had them come back at some point as an actual virtual host throughout the show where you could engage the hosts as well as the guests during the whole show. (Admin 00:24, 4 November 2007 (EDT))
• Thanks, Admin. That's what I got from your last comment, too. It'd be very cool to be able to interact with Tim et al, but I don't know if that's going to happen. A boy can dream, though, right? :) I don't mind if people don't like the show, I have very little to do with the content itself, just my 90 seconds. I was really pretty nervous--I didn't have a script or anything (could you tell?)...And each time we rehearsed, I said something totally different. And they cut off the top of my head...Oh well, at least the shirt was visible! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:32, 4 November 2007 (EDT)
• It's ok they cut off the top of your head. If they hadn't done it, Sylar would have. As for the content this show is very new and since they're involving the fan community so much I think there's potential for fan opinions to mold the show somewhat. I think if we continue to support and contribute to the show it may be possible to influence it. (Admin 01:04, 4 November 2007 (EDT))
• Good points. The producer calls me or writes me about every other day. I would have no problem telling him what the fan community feels. Are there any specific messages anybody would like me to relay? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:18, 4 November 2007 (EDT)
• I'd convey the virtual co-host idea to them. I think it could be interesting especially as the show progresses. (Admin 01:22, 4 November 2007 (EDT))
• Make it longer and give us more interviews, or at least longer ones. No one likes a rush job, especially when theres so much potential for awesome hint dropping.--Avenger 09:00, 4 November 2007 (EST)

Episode 1

• I just noticed they misspelled http://heroes-clues.com as heroesclues.com. That's a shame because heroesclues.com just goes to some other parked website. Also I'm "HeroesWiki" on the chat and it looks like I came up a few times for the 2 questions I answered (I didn't have good answers for the other two). Also it's interesting to note that there was a small but noticible spike in site traffic shortly after Ryan's segment aired. (Admin 01:20, 4 November 2007 (EDT))
• Thanks. I'll let Lauren know, and I'll tell the producer about the typo. I was wondering if "HeroesWiki" was you. :) I'm just glad they credited me correctly. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:37, 4 November 2007 (EDT)
• Lauren said she also saw an increase in her traffic. In fact, traffic usually drops on the weekends for her, but this weekend it rose. Incidentally, she just bought heroesclues.com the other day, but the redirected traffic apparently takes some time. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:35, 4 November 2007 (EST)
• Oh, that's good. Incidentally, it spiked a little again earlier around 7pm EST when the show aired again on G4. Nothing close to what we see after a new show airs, but still noticeable. As for the delay in the redirection, that's why I do everything myself. :) I routinely add new domains and have them live and functional withing about a minute or so of registering them. (Admin 21:26, 4 November 2007 (EST))
• I just forwarded Ryan an e-mail about the bug info that the direct link to The Post Show website page from the G4 homepage was broken during the show, and continues to remain broken (big oops there?). Also, I couldn't find a video feed to watch the Post Show online (maybe that's on purpose?). Anyways, something else I noticed is that the java chat shows my identity as my username, but The Quest page question asks for my rl identity. You might suggest that usernames be permitted if the user is already registered and logged into the site. As for the java chat room, I couldn't find much help on using it and when I typed in the box to enter text, what I was writing kept scrolling to the right--not a big deal, just annoying. I'll hopefully be able to give more positive feedback when I can actually see the show. :(--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:31, 4 November 2007 (EDT)
• I got your email and I'll pass it on. I'll also let the producer know about the other problems you mentioned. More than likely, he won't have any idea how to fix them, but he'll pass whatever messages he deems worthy on to the tech guys. Thanks for keeping me updated, though. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:37, 4 November 2007 (EDT)
• No problem. The "Cannot find server" page suggests to e-mail to "webmaster@g4media.com". If you think my e-mailing there would help, let me know and I can forward my message there as well.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:49, 4 November 2007 (EDT)
• Couldn't hurt. I have no idea who gets those emails. But I'll definitely forward your email tomorrow. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:53, 4 November 2007 (EDT)
• Ok, I just sent it to the webmaster. The more the merrier. :)--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:04, 4 November 2007 (EST)
• Could we get a transcript of this? --SacValleyDweller (talk) 16:32, 4 November 2007 (EST)
• That would be nice, I've seen several people requesting a transcripts on 9thwonders.com. (Admin 16:34, 4 November 2007 (EST))
• ...or a clip to the show if that's possible.--Bob (talk) 20:29, 4 November 2007 (EST)
• According to the show's webmaster, who replied to me today, G4 will not be airing The Post Show online. Anyone care to upload it to Youtube for private viewing? I'm pretty sure public viewing will be pulled. The webmaster claimed he/she would try to fix the bug with the link.--MiamiVolts (talk) 19:05, 5 November 2007 (EST)
