Reairing on the web

Any word of this? Thanks.--Bob (talk) 01:46, 31 October 2007 (EDT)

  • Yes. Exclusive rights. Here's the official press release they sent me. I'm not sure why I can't find it online anywhere.
G4 will debut "Heroes" with all-day marathons of season one episodes on Saturday, October 27 and Sunday, October 28. The network will begin airing episodes from the current season with a mini-marathon of the first six episodes of "Heroes" season two on Saturday, November 3 from 5:00-11:00pm et/pt. G4 will then regularly air each week's current episode of "Heroes" on Saturdays at 10:00pm et/pt.

Additionally, G4 will present a live, half-hour "Heroes" wrap-up show immediately following each regularly scheduled episode. "The Post Show," premiering Saturday, November 3 at 11:00pm et/pt, will feature multiple interactive and web-enabled elements, including live chats and polls, exclusive interviews with cast and crew members and tips on what to look for in upcoming episodes. G4 has also obtained exclusive cable rights to stream the series on the network's popular web site, G4 gains free VOD rights for "Heroes" in 2010.

In addition to experiencing all new episodes of Heroes, G4 viewers can take part in a live and interactive post-show after each episode where fans will be able to use web cams and instant messaging to join in a live discussion, voice their opinions and provide theories on how future episodes will play out.
    -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:50, 31 October 2007 (EDT)
    • So it's live online, or will I be able to watch it later online? Kinda confusing.--Bob (talk) 01:53, 31 October 2007 (EDT)
      • That press release makes it sound as if just the show Heroes will be webstreamed. I guess we'll just have to tune in to find out, but judging by the lack of reply I'm expecting to be disappointed.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:57, 31 October 2007 (EDT)
      • Oh, I didn't think of that. I assumed that "streaming" meant you could get it when you wanted. I guess it's not very clear, is it? Dunno, really. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:58, 31 October 2007 (EDT)
        • I think they might air Zeroes on the NBC channel. They asked Diana to go on it I think. I'll double check with her. Jason Garrick 21:21, 1 November 2007 (EDT)

That was a little underwhelming.

I gotta say, The Post Show was good, which surprised me since G4 is one of the ten worst channels on TV, but I thought it was a little underwhelming. I was expecting alot more than they gave us. Granted, this was the very first episode, and it probably needs a little bit of growing, but I wanted more than they gave. The only real info stated that I didn't already know about from here was Jack's little hint about Adam Monroe. If I had to rate this show right now, I'd give it about a 6 out of 10, overall. --Avenger 23:37, 3 November 2007 (EDT)

  • Personally, I think it's biggest problem is that it's got to fit into essentially 20 minutes or so (allotting about 10 minutes for commercials). Most podcasts are at least two to three times that long. So it'll probably be a bit rushed unless they lengthen it to 60 minutes. (Admin 23:40, 3 November 2007 (EDT))
    • G4's contract with NBC stipulates that they have at least one cast or crew member every week. I can't go into details about who is appearing and who is not appearing, but there will be different interviews each week. I liked both interviews with Tim and Jack. The producer would like to see more writers and directors on the show, which I think would be really cool for fans to see and hear. Typically, the best insights and spoilers come from the talent that creates the show, not the talent that performs it. I'm curious to see what happens next week. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:09, 4 November 2007 (EDT)
      • Yeah, I'm really looking forward to it, too. Hopefully my previous comment came off as a compliment, not a criticism... I think G4 needs to make the show even longer which is a good thing. :) That way they can spend more time talking to each person. Ryan, you probably got only slightly less time than Tim Kring did! :) I thought your segment was very well done and well articulated. I hope they ask you to come back. I think it'd be really neat if they took the people that did well on camera and had them come back at some point as an actual virtual host throughout the show where you could engage the hosts as well as the guests during the whole show. (Admin 00:24, 4 November 2007 (EDT))
        • Thanks, Admin. That's what I got from your last comment, too. It'd be very cool to be able to interact with Tim et al, but I don't know if that's going to happen. A boy can dream, though, right? :) I don't mind if people don't like the show, I have very little to do with the content itself, just my 90 seconds. I was really pretty nervous--I didn't have a script or anything (could you tell?)...And each time we rehearsed, I said something totally different. And they cut off the top of my head...Oh well, at least the shirt was visible! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:32, 4 November 2007 (EDT)
          • It's ok they cut off the top of your head. If they hadn't done it, Sylar would have. As for the content this show is very new and since they're involving the fan community so much I think there's potential for fan opinions to mold the show somewhat. I think if we continue to support and contribute to the show it may be possible to influence it. (Admin 01:04, 4 November 2007 (EDT))
            • Good points. The producer calls me or writes me about every other day. I would have no problem telling him what the fan community feels. Are there any specific messages anybody would like me to relay? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:18, 4 November 2007 (EDT)
              • I'd convey the virtual co-host idea to them. I think it could be interesting especially as the show progresses. (Admin 01:22, 4 November 2007 (EDT))
                • Make it longer and give us more interviews, or at least longer ones. No one likes a rush job, especially when theres so much potential for awesome hint dropping.--Avenger 09:00, 4 November 2007 (EST)

Episode 1

  • I just noticed they misspelled as That's a shame because just goes to some other parked website. Also I'm "HeroesWiki" on the chat and it looks like I came up a few times for the 2 questions I answered (I didn't have good answers for the other two). Also it's interesting to note that there was a small but noticible spike in site traffic shortly after Ryan's segment aired. (Admin 01:20, 4 November 2007 (EDT))
    • Thanks. I'll let Lauren know, and I'll tell the producer about the typo. I was wondering if "HeroesWiki" was you. :) I'm just glad they credited me correctly. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:37, 4 November 2007 (EDT)
      • Lauren said she also saw an increase in her traffic. In fact, traffic usually drops on the weekends for her, but this weekend it rose. Incidentally, she just bought the other day, but the redirected traffic apparently takes some time. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:35, 4 November 2007 (EST)
        • Oh, that's good. Incidentally, it spiked a little again earlier around 7pm EST when the show aired again on G4. Nothing close to what we see after a new show airs, but still noticeable. As for the delay in the redirection, that's why I do everything myself. :) I routinely add new domains and have them live and functional withing about a minute or so of registering them. (Admin 21:26, 4 November 2007 (EST))
    • I just forwarded Ryan an e-mail about the bug info that the direct link to The Post Show website page from the G4 homepage was broken during the show, and continues to remain broken (big oops there?). Also, I couldn't find a video feed to watch the Post Show online (maybe that's on purpose?). Anyways, something else I noticed is that the java chat shows my identity as my username, but The Quest page question asks for my rl identity. You might suggest that usernames be permitted if the user is already registered and logged into the site. As for the java chat room, I couldn't find much help on using it and when I typed in the box to enter text, what I was writing kept scrolling to the right--not a big deal, just annoying. I'll hopefully be able to give more positive feedback when I can actually see the show. :(--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:31, 4 November 2007 (EDT)
      • I got your email and I'll pass it on. I'll also let the producer know about the other problems you mentioned. More than likely, he won't have any idea how to fix them, but he'll pass whatever messages he deems worthy on to the tech guys. Thanks for keeping me updated, though. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:37, 4 November 2007 (EDT)
        • No problem. The "Cannot find server" page suggests to e-mail to "". If you think my e-mailing there would help, let me know and I can forward my message there as well.--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:49, 4 November 2007 (EDT)
          • Couldn't hurt. I have no idea who gets those emails. But I'll definitely forward your email tomorrow. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:53, 4 November 2007 (EDT)
            • Ok, I just sent it to the webmaster. The more the merrier. :)--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:04, 4 November 2007 (EST)
  • Could we get a transcript of this? --SacValleyDweller (talk) 16:32, 4 November 2007 (EST)
    • That would be nice, I've seen several people requesting a transcripts on (Admin 16:34, 4 November 2007 (EST))
      • ...or a clip to the show if that's possible.--Bob (talk) 20:29, 4 November 2007 (EST)
        • According to the show's webmaster, who replied to me today, G4 will not be airing The Post Show online. Anyone care to upload it to Youtube for private viewing? I'm pretty sure public viewing will be pulled. The webmaster claimed he/she would try to fix the bug with the link.--MiamiVolts (talk) 19:05, 5 November 2007 (EST)
  • Dave at suggested a "stump the expert" segment--I thought that sounded like fun...provided I could have Heroes Wiki at my fingertips. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:05, 8 November 2007 (EST)

Just a quick update: I sent all the above concerns to the producer on Monday. He hasn't gotten back to me, but I don't expect him to. I can't say if anything will be done, or if the suggestions will be seriously considered. I'd like to think that G4 takes input from their fans seriously, but I'm not really involved in the planning and production, so I can't say. Anyway, this week will feature Dana Davis. Guest hosts are David Deas from and Eric Anderson from Enjoy! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:53, 7 November 2007 (EST)

  • Thanks Ryan for forwarding my suggestions. Looks like I'm not going to be able to see last week's show (no one has told me they would post it, and it's not going to be put on their website), but it's still great that you were able to guest host and promote our site.--MiamiVolts (talk) 22:57, 7 November 2007 (EST)
    • I'm hoping a friend is able to upload it to YouTube. I would, but my computer is not reading my DVD drive right now. I'm Very Upset. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:12, 7 November 2007 (EST)
      • That's not good. Hope it doesn't cost a bundle to fix.--MiamiVolts (talk) 23:21, 7 November 2007 (EST)
        • Yeah, me too. It's frustrating--it came with Nero. When Nero expired, I deleted it off my desktop. Apparently, Nero embedded itself pretty well on my computer because after I deleted it, my computer wouldn't (and still won't) read my D: or E: drive. I've had absolutely no luck in fixing the problem. Ugh. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:58, 7 November 2007 (EST)
          • Did you try installing a new trial version for Nero?--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:01, 8 November 2007 (EST)
            • Can't install it without a drive to read my CD ROMs. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:04, 8 November 2007 (EST)
              • Nero doesn't allow you to download a trial version from their website?--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:21, 8 November 2007 (EST)
                • I suppose I can try that...I'm just a little angry with Nero right now... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 06:17, 8 November 2007 (EST)
                  • Ryan, I suppose I could pull my tower to your house. It wouldn't bug me at all, seeing as I don't have firewire meaning I can't pull the stuff off of my DVR box. I have a nice DVD drive you can use and Nero. Oh, and I just realized. My grandmother has an external CD-RW drive you might be able to use.--Japanimation 23:21, 10 November 2007 (EST)
                    • That'd be AWEsome. And if it works, you'd be a lifesaver. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:39, 10 November 2007 (EST)

Episode 3

I'll probably be on again this Saturday. Still waiting on details. It'll be a bit different--they want to add a debate section in which Lauren and I would debate a particular theory, or something like that. I told the producer that Lauren and I usually agree on most things, but we'll see if we can work something out. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:52, 13 November 2007 (EST)

  • I told the producer that my top three issues I'd want to debate would be something along the lines of 1) What are Adam's motives? 2) Can the transfer of blood equal the transfer of powers, even temporarily? and 3) Why doesn't Sylar have powers anymore? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:22, 13 November 2007 (EST)
    • I just heard back from the producer, and we'll be discussing three issues related to Adam: 1. Adam's Motives: Good or Evil 2. Is he seeking World Domination, to take down the company, or just to take down Hiro? 3. Is Adam the cure to the virus? ... Feel free to weigh in and let me know your opinions--it helps to shape my own opinions. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:35, 13 November 2007 (EST)
      1. Adam appears motivated by greed and revenge. When he was travelling in Japan he appeared to care only about having a good time and making a fortune. But Hiro corrupted him. Sure, Hiro showed him how to be a hero, but he also learned betrayal and that leads to motive #2: revenge. Adam planned to help White Beard take out the Emperor of Japan, but he didn't cause Hiro stopped him. He is also upset at the world cause after surviving the explosion he thinks he is destined to live forever, and forever without love: he feels cursed.--MiamiVolts (talk) 20:28, 13 November 2007 (EST)
      2. If Adam wanted to dominate the World, he'd have built an army of more than a few people and done so way earlier than now... no, he wants to destroy it (see my answer to #1 for why); he doesn't want to take down the Company, he wants to run it (given his age, I think he formed the Company); and yes, Adam wants to bring Hiro as much pain as he feels Hiro brought him, although don't expect him to admit it (what fun would that be? LOL).--MiamiVolts (talk) 20:28, 13 November 2007 (EST)
      3. No, Alejandro is the only "cure". Alejandro can cure Maya's illness, but not permanently cause Maya's power is to create illness. Also, I'm expecting Mohinder will teach him how to cure other illnesses, and cure Sylar by mistake (or in gratitude). Hiro must save Alejandro and Mohinder to save the evolved humans, and if Sylar kills Alejandro first, Sylar must be forced into helping to save the world... Also, I think Claire and Adam, as regenerators, when injected with the original strain will create a super-virus that can spread person-to-person, even among the non-evolved.--MiamiVolts (talk) 20:28, 13 November 2007 (EST)
      • Thanks, Miami. These are good thoughts. I don't know which side I will be debating, so your comments either give me fodder, or they will help shape my counter arguments. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:41, 13 November 2007 (EST)
        • You're welcome. Though I'm sad I won't be able to watch your interview, I'm happy to help and wish you good luck.--MiamiVolts (talk) 20:49, 13 November 2007 (EST)
          • Now that my DVD drive is working, I'll see if I can post something on YT. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:08, 13 November 2007 (EST)
            • Cool, that'd be great. :)--MiamiVolts (talk) 21:10, 13 November 2007 (EST)

I was asked to have a regular spot as one half of the debaters--Lauren will have the other half (if she accepts). I should be on the next two episodes. I don't know what will happen after Heroes goes on hiatus, but I imagine The Post Show will, too. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:26, 26 November 2007 (EST)

  • Cool, congrats! That sounds great. Maybe I'll actually be able to see one of the shows someday...--MiamiVolts (talk) 20:33, 26 November 2007 (EST)
    • Dagnabbit, I forgot again, didn't I? Lemme see what I can do right now. Hang on a sec. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:35, 26 November 2007 (EST)
      • Okay, I have both episodes burned to a DVD, but I'm trying to figure out how to separate them into smaller files and then upload them to YouTube... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:17, 26 November 2007 (EST)
        • Please do. :-D--Bob (talk) 23:01, 26 November 2007 (EST)
          • Yeah! That means I can be your producer again, even though you do have that new laptop...:D--Japanimation 17:32, 28 November 2007 (EST)
            • Yay, could you please help Ryan figure out how to convert his DVD files into a format compatible with Youtube? That would be awesome as I'm still waiting patiently. ;)--MiamiVolts (talk) 17:36, 28 November 2007 (EST)
              • Japanimation is da man--I wouldn't have gotten my new laptop if it were not for him. And he's the one responsible for making me look so pretty each week. :) I'll get those videos on YouTube soon enough...-- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:00, 28 November 2007 (EST)

The finale for The Post Show will be next week, December 8. It will be an hour long. There will be four (possibly five) members of the cast and crew, including one of my favorite actors, a director/producer, and a writer/director. I'm not sure I can say who quite yet, so I'll let you post your own theories. Anyway, if anybody wants to be in the audience (either studio or virtual), send an email to and let them know. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:05, 30 November 2007 (EST)

  • Okay, the confirmed cast and crew who will be appearing this Saturday are Tim Kring, Allan Arkush, Jack Coleman, Jimmy Jean-Louis, and Dania Ramirez. There's a bit more that I can't say right now. I won't be this Saturday and neither will Lauren....Some people have emailed me asking about next season--when Heroes returns, The Post Show is also expected to return. That could change, of course, but the plan right now is to continue The Post Show. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:22, 6 December 2007 (EST)

Season Three

Hey everybody. I just got word from the producer of The Post Show at G4 and unfortunately, the show won't be returning. It got shortened by the writers strike and they won't be resurrecting The Post Show on G4. Fortunately, G4 will still continue airing Heroes episodes. Instead of airing them on Saturdays, I believe they will be airing on Tuesdays, according the G4's website. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:32, 8 September 2008 (EDT)

  • That's sad news, but thanks for the update. Hopefully they'll change their mind mid-season.--MiamiVolts (talk) 16:19, 8 September 2008 (EDT)
    • I have a feeling it has more to do with the declining popularity of Heroes than anything else. In related news, G4 is rolling out Lost 2.0, a similar format to The Post Show, but for Lost instead of Heroes. No doubt this is a direct response to the strong season Lost had this past year. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:29, 8 September 2008 (EDT)
      • It's unfortunate that show's amazing looking studio set won't be put to further use. It's a shame it won't be returning. - FlyingMan 04:11, 25 September 2008 (EDT)
