Redirects

Is there a reason to prefer capitalizing redirect commands over keeping them lowercase? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:59, 25 November 2007 (EST)

• For some reason, the lowercase redirects don't work. After you redirected the page, the page still look like this one, as if it hadn't been changed at all. When I clicked "edit", and then "preview", this page appeared, but this didn't correspond to the theory page. After I capitalized the redirect commands, the page redirected correctly.--Ice Vision 18:07, 25 November 2007 (EST)
  • Wow, I've never heard of that happening with lowercase redirect commands. How did you access the page the first time?       • That's odd. I've never heard of that happening. When you click the diff link, it should take you to a page that says something like "1. redirect Theory:Adam Monroe". At the top, the left side would have the old information (the afd page) and the right would have the new information (the redirect code). Your theory on Arthur Petrelli

• I didn't mean to "hide" that comment. It was a rather insignificant note, so I didn't think anyone would mind. Really, Arthur was a veteran, so he has killed people before. I don't see what the big deal is.--Ice Vision 11:22, 1 December 2007 (EST)
  • The big deal is drawing the connection between being a murderer and being a veteran. I'm not going into military law but killing someone on a mission is not murder if it's your mission, such as the case for Au Co.--Bob (talk) 11:32, 1 December 2007 (EST)
    • I understand that, but what I was trying to say is that Arthur has experienced what it was like to kill someone (even though it may have been his mission), and he seemed to tastelessly take a girl's life. Patrolling

I added you as a patroller. In the recent changes, you should see some red exclamation marks, which represent pages which have not yet been patrolled. (Clicking on the "Hide patrolled edits" link will also show you all the unpatrolled edits.) If you are on the diff page, you should see a link for [Mark as patrolled]. If you are on a brand new page (including a welcome on a new user's talk page), the [Mark as patrolled] link is on the bottom right. Administrator's edits are automatically patrolled. Your edits are not automatically patrolled and you cannot patrol your own edits, though I think you can patrol another patroller's edits (like MiamiVolts's). • Welcome to the ranks, fellow patroller! My suggestion is to hide patrolled edits and your own edits, and click the 30 day option when you get started. That limits what you view to like a todo list.   • You can also go through the history of a particular page to find more unpatrolled edits, especially those which have already celebrated their thirty-day birthday.
