  • Thanks so so much for uploading that image! Great idea! I really appreciate it. :)--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  11:47, 23 November 2007 (EST)
    • Thanks. I plan on expanding the page later. I really like the idea of the "special" page. Props to you.--Ice Vision 11:50, 23 November 2007 (EST)
      • Thanks a bunch. You did a great job with the information so far! I really appreciate the help! (I know I already said it, but who cares? :D) :)--  Lost Soul   talk  contribs  11:52, 23 November 2007 (EST)

Is there a reason to prefer capitalizing redirect commands over keeping them lowercase? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:59, 25 November 2007 (EST)

  • For some reason, the lowercase redirects don't work. After you redirected the page, the page still look like this one, as if it hadn't been changed at all. When I clicked "edit", and then "preview", this page appeared, but this didn't correspond to the theory page. After I capitalized the redirect commands, the page redirected correctly.--Ice Vision 18:07, 25 November 2007 (EST)
    • Wow, I've never heard of that happening with lowercase redirect commands. How did you access the page the first time? Did you go through the diff page from the recent changes, or did you go through the history, or did you just click the page, etc.? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:11, 25 November 2007 (EST)
      • I clicked a link to the page on the recent changes. It's really confusing.--Ice Vision 18:18, 25 November 2007 (EST)
        • That's odd. I've never heard of that happening. When you click the diff link, it should take you to a page that says something like "1. redirect Theory:Adam Monroe". At the top, the left side would have the old information (the afd page) and the right would have the new information (the redirect code). Let me know if it happens again. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:53, 25 November 2007 (EST)
          • Okay, I'll let you know.--Ice Vision 22:00, 25 November 2007 (EST)

Your theory on Arthur Petrelli

"It should be noted that Arthur was a soldier who fought in the Vietnam War, which obviously makes [sic] a murderer."

Please keep comments like this out of the theories sections from now on. Hiding the additions behind grammar improvments doesnt make them untrackable.--Piemanmoo 03:06, 1 December 2007 (EST)

  • I didn't mean to "hide" that comment. It was a rather insignificant note, so I didn't think anyone would mind. Really, Arthur was a veteran, so he has killed people before. I don't see what the big deal is.--Ice Vision 11:22, 1 December 2007 (EST)
    • The big deal is drawing the connection between being a murderer and being a veteran. I'm not going into military law but killing someone on a mission is not murder if it's your mission, such as the case for Au Co.--Bob (talk) 11:32, 1 December 2007 (EST)
      • I understand that, but what I was trying to say is that Arthur has experienced what it was like to kill someone (even though it may have been his mission), and he seemed to tastelessly take a girl's life. You've explained it to me a lot better, so I understand. You can go ahead and remove the note right now if you want.--Ice Vision 11:40, 1 December 2007 (EST)
        • I think the way it's reworded, it's sufficient and unoffensive as a note.--Bob (talk) 11:42, 1 December 2007 (EST)

Thanks for uploading those images! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:35, 10 December 2007 (EST)

  • No problem. --Ice Vision 18:38, 10 December 2007 (EST)

  • Thanks for fixing that image for me. How do you get rid of that [image, |250px]? Horrorman 9:55, 31 December 2007 (EST) (HAPPY NEW YEAR!)
    • Hey can i get some input on this idea I have for an ability? Here's the link to the ability. --Horrorman 15:09, 1 January 2008 Happy New Year!

I added you as a patroller. In the recent changes, you should see some red exclamation marks, which represent pages which have not yet been patrolled. (Clicking on the "Hide patrolled edits" link will also show you all the unpatrolled edits.) If you are on the diff page, you should see a link for [Mark as patrolled]. If you are on a brand new page (including a welcome on a new user's talk page), the [Mark as patrolled] link is on the bottom right. Administrator's edits are automatically patrolled. Your edits are not automatically patrolled and you cannot patrol your own edits, though I think you can patrol another patroller's edits (like MiamiVolts's). Let me know if you have any questions about patrolling, of course. Oh, and congratulations! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:54, 9 February 2008 (EST)

  • Welcome to the ranks, fellow patroller! My suggestion is to hide patrolled edits and your own edits, and click the 30 day option when you get started. That limits what you view to like a todo list. Except for my own edits, the patrol marks are caught up to today. Again, congrats! :)--MiamiVolts (talk) 19:57, 9 February 2008 (EST)
    • You can also go through the history of a particular page to find more unpatrolled edits, especially those which have already celebrated their thirty-day birthday. I mean, nobody's asking anybody to do that to 2,400+ articles, but I've certainly found some that way that were missed way back in the beginning of the season... :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:02, 9 February 2008 (EST)
      • Another trick is to Shift-click the [Mark as patrolled] link. When you shift-click, the patrol confirmation comes up on a seperate page. This works even in IE6, which is what I use.--MiamiVolts (talk) 21:28, 9 February 2008 (EST)
        • Oh, and on Firefox, I can hit Alt+Shift+P to patrol an article. It makes it really easy to patrol lots of articles in multiple tabs. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:08, 9 February 2008 (EST)
  • what's the criteria for choosing patrollers again? --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 21:37, 9 February 2008 (EST)
    • Basically, it's dependent upon an administrator's view of a person's skill in distinguishing between edits that are appropriate and those that are not (e.g. Info is misplaced or doesn't follow the style guidelines, etc.) and how the person typically handles the latter type of edit. (Admin 21:51, 9 February 2008 (EST))
      • How many patrollers are there going to be? --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 21:53, 9 February 2008 (EST)
        • More than there are administrators, but there's no fixed number. Basically it will be whatever number is required to keep up with patrolling the edits. (Admin 21:54, 9 February 2008 (EST))
          • I always have free time. :D *hint hint cough hint cough* --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 22:04, 9 February 2008 (EST)
            • I promoted Ice Vision because I can trust that every one of his edits is going to be quality, keeps with the theme and style of the site, and is grammatically correct. I imagine that once the episodes start up again, we will definitely need some more patrollers. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:08, 9 February 2008 (EST)
  • Cool. Thanks, guys! --Ice Vision (talk) 12:17, 10 February 2008 (EST)

Capitalization of "family"

  • Haven't seen you around for a few months. Everything ok? (Admin 00:38, 7 July 2008 (EDT))
    • Yeah, everything's fine. I wanted to take a break and come back when the new season returns. --Ice Vision (talk) 23:18, 26 August 2008 (EDT)

Patrolling guidelines

Hey, Ice Vision. As we approach the start of a new season and what promises to be a very busy time on the wiki, I suggested some tips for patrolling here. Check them out when you get a chance. Thanks! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:58, 19 September 2008 (EDT)

  • I don't think I'm going to be on the wiki so often. I have a busy schedule. Do you think I could pull out from being a patroller? --Ice Vision (talk) 23:09, 29 September 2008 (EDT)
    • Hey, Ice Vision. Sorry I never saw your response and your request to be removed from the patroller's group. Your request was just brought to my attention today. I'll remove you now. Thanks so much for your service! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:34, 1 November 2008 (EDT)
