Theory Citations Notes
Maury is Uluru. None + In an interview, the writers stated that "we would see a hint of Uluru before the season is over".
+ Molly states that, if she uses her power to see this person, he can see her back. While using his power, Isaac saw Uluru, and Uluru saw and spoke to Isaac. (Isaac's First Time)
+ Uluru has been hinted at as a villain for quite some time now. This could be a set-up to Season Two.
- Kring confirmed that Uluru only existed in the pages of the comic books.
Maury angered the Company and left his family to keep them from getting involved. Matt's father left when Matt was thirteen years old. (The Kindness of Strangers) + The time Matt's father left would be during the time he was a veteran in the Company.
+ Molly states that she doesn't want to find Mr. Parkman using her ability because he sees her. This may imply that the Company used her to find him previously, as she would not have reason to use her ability to find him otherwise.
+ In Fight or Flight, Maury tells Matt that he had to leave, and it was very difficult for him.
- Of course, he could have easily been lying about this to cover himself, given that his son was angry and holding a gun on him.
- Additionally, after leaving Matt and Nathan in an illusion where they can unintentionally bludgeon each other to death, Maury doesn't strike me as much of a family man.
The entire Heroes world only exists in our heads due to Maury's use of telepathy. None + Nathan, Matt, and Niki had no idea that their visions were a result of Maury Parkman's power.

- Deus Ex Machina is a horrible writing device and heroes is pretty awesome so far.

Maury was not Matt's birth father. None - Their powers are very similar.
+ It is not confirmed that powers are hereditary. It could just be coincidence.
- This would be a very unlikely coincidence, especially since Maury and Matt look like father and son.

+ None of the other evolved families thus far have had direct inheritance of a similar power.

- Perhaps the same power is more likely to be passed on if only one parent has a power.
+ If James Walker had the same power as Molly, Sylar wouldn't have needed hers.
- Sylar couldn't have known what Molly's powers were. He only went after her because he knew she had a power.
- James could have died before Sylar took his brain. Sylar may have just tried in vain to take his powers
- Perhaps mental powers are more likely to be inherited. One example of this could be the Haitian and Guillame, since their powers are similar. The single parent theory above could also apply to them.

+ Maury might have left Matt when his son was thirteen because he knew Matt wasn't his, just as Matt left Janice.
+ Matt's willingness to adopt Molly may be a sign that he was also adopted.

Maury Parkman was in fact working for someone other than Adam Monroe. None. Maury is still alive; it is likely he will appear again in Volume 3.

+ Maury could easily have killed either Angela Petrelli or Bob. Why simply scare Angela and never attempt it again?

- Because he failed to kill her. She resisted his attack.
- If he intentionally spared them, that raises a new question; why would he scare them, and make them think he was working for Adam?

+ Maury did not kill either Matt or Nathan, when he knew they were preparing to stop him.

The only source that implies he was coming to harm Matt or Nathan is from Bob, who appears to be the target and is certainly unreliable. (Out of Time)

+ Adam carries pictures of his victims with him. Maury does not, instead leaving them to be found by his pursuers.

- Perhaps it was a simple mistake; he didn't appear to know Nathan and Matt were coming to his apartment.
- The threat was in the same distinct style as all of Adam's; why would he have Bob's photo? (Fight or Flight)
It is possible he forged his death threat to gain credibility.

+ No motive has been given for Maury siding with Adam. Being a telepath and one of the original twelve, Maury would know Adam's plans for genocide. While Maury has clearly been described as certainly evil, he has not been shown as either a Linderman-style healer or a genocide nut like Adam.

- Adam is certainly manipulative, though; perhaps he promised Maury the gift of immortality. Or perhaps he agreed with Adam's misanthropy, just as Angela agreed with Linderman's utilitarianism.

+ Maury wouldn't be worried about Adam. Adam can only regenerate, Maury can control minds and create nightmares. He might still need the shotgun, but Adam would still be at a huge disadvantage.

- Angela has shown resistance to persuasion. Adam, being significantly older, might even be immune to telepathy; Peter never attempted to read his mind.

+ Maury wouldn't be worried about the Company either. Perhaps the Haitian might dampen his powers, but even Matt Parkman discovered his powers could break through the Haitian's power.

- His motive did not appear to be fear.

- Bob says Maury is the blunt instrument. Obviously Adam has manipulated him in some way, and has allowed some sort of advantage for Maury in return for killing the other founders.
- Maury didn't attack Angela or Bob until immediately after Adam was released.
