Season Two

The second season of Heroes begins four months after the conclusion of Volume One. The events of Kirby Plaza have changed the lives of the Volume One survivors, and not necessarily for the better. Meanwhile, several new characters are introduced, and the origin of the Company begins to be revealed, as its founders are faced with a mysterious figure from the past determined to kill them off. Eventually, an even bigger threat occurs: a virus, threatening to kill 93% of the world's population.

Writers Strike complications

Season Two was originally planned to consist of a combined 30 episodes and span the 2007-2008 season. It originally was going to consist of 24 regular storyline episodes split into three volumes, Volume Two: Generations, Volume Three: Exodus, and Volume Four: Villains [1]. In addition to these three volumes, six episodes of a mini-series entitled Heroes: Origins were to air [2].

With talk of an impending strike, Origins was shelved and Volume Three: Exodus was canceled, with Villains replacing it as Volume Three. The strike commenced on November 5, 2007, and ended February 12, 2008. Because of the length of the strike, it was announced that Volume Three: Villains would instead air in the fall during Season Three.

Volume Two: Generations

The second volume of Heroes, entitled Generations, aired for eleven episodes.

	Chapter One -- Four Months Later... Original Air Date: 24 September 2007 Four months after the explosive events in New York, the fates of Peter, Nathan, and Matt are revealed; Hiro meets his hero in feudal Japan; and new individuals with abilities emerge worldwide.
	Chapter Two -- Lizards Original Air Date: 1 October 2007 After the death of a hero, Matt enlists somes unlikely help to find the sinister force behind the attacks, while Claire's efforts to hide her abilities are jeopardized by a fellow student with a secret of his own.
	Chapter Three -- Kindred Original Air Date: 8 October 2007 Several heroes make shocking discoveries as Suresh uncovers a hidden Isaac Mendez painting, Maya uses her abilities to free her brother, and Hiro is surprised by his hero, Kensei.
	Chapter Four -- The Kindness of Strangers Original Air Date: 15 October 2007 The past catches up to the present with information about the previous generation of heroes and a new hero exhibiting unexpected powers in post-Katrina New Orleans.
	Chapter Five -- Fight or Flight Original Air Date: 22 October 2007 Ireland becomes the scene of an encounter between a lost hero and a woman who is willing to kill to find him, while Matt flies to Philadelphia to hund down Molly's "boogeyman."
	Chapter Six -- The Line Original Air Date: 29 October 2007 Moral dilemmas surface as West convinces Claire to punish another cheerleader, Suresh tries to work with the Company, and Hiro struggles with his feelings for Kensei's "princess."
	Chapter Seven -- Out of Time Original Air Date: 5 November 2007 Several heroes face off against the "nightmare man" in a deadly attack, while Peter and Caitlin battle his personal demons when one of his forgotten abilities suddenly manifests.
	Chapter Eight -- Four Months Ago... Original Air Date: 12 November 2007 The clock turns back four months to reveal what happened to the heroes directly after the explosion in New York: from Nathan's terrible loss to the Haitian's sacrifice.
	Chapter Nine -- Cautionary Tales Original Air Date: 19 November 2007 Agendas clash as Claire and her father ponder wheter to run, Matt struggles with his new abilities, and Maya and Alejandro's relationship as they travel with Sylar.
	Chapter Ten -- Truth & Consequences Original Air Date: 26 November 2007 Difficult decisions lie ahead as Peter tries to stop a dangerous vial threat, Hiro goes after his father's killer, and Maya must choose between her brother and Sylar.
	Chapter Eleven -- Powerless Original Air Date: 3 December 2007 It's hero versus hero in the explosive season finale as Peter, Nathan, Matt and Hiro clash over the Shanti virus, and Maya sees Sylar's true nature when he kidnaps Molly and Suresh.
