Mira Shenoy is a former colleague and lover of Mohinder Suresh who works as a genetic researcher in Madras, India.
Character History
Seven Minutes to Midnight
At Chandra's funeral, Nirand points out Mira to Mohinder and suggests that there is perhaps more than just a job waiting for him. Later, she arrives at Chandra's office looking for him. She apologizes for arguing with him about his father's research. She tells him that she's been promoted to the head of genetic research at her company and offers him a job—provided he agrees to forget all about his father's theories. Mohinder tells her he'll think about it.
Homecoming
Mohinder's mother mentions that Mira told her that Mohinder rejected her job offer and will be returning to New York.
Brother's Keeper
Nine weeks ago, Mohinder teaching a student on tectonic plates. When Mohinder is done, Mira states that Mohinder's students adore him, and that he was born to teach. While Mohinder is talking, Mira is searching for something and then finds a box with Chandra's old works in it. Mira argues that he promised to throw it away. Mohinder says that it's his father's lifework and that it's hard for him to throw it away. Mira states that they have a good life in India, and that when he works on his father's research he just vanishes. Mohinder says that she is right and puts the box with all of Chandra's work in the garbage can.
The next morning, Mira finds Mohinder asleep, in the middle of his father's research. Mira wakes him up and he tells her that he has made a remarkable discovery. Mira buts him and is upset with him for not throwing it away. Mohinder tries to argue, but Mira says Mohinder is obsessed. She pleads for him to think about what he has, and what he has to lose. Mira tells him that if he leaves to continue his father's work, she won't wait for him to return.
After Mohinder returns from carnival to his motel room, Mohinder leaves Mira a voice mail, saying she was right and telling her that he'll be on the first flight back to India.
