Ability name?
- Was this ability explicitly named Smoke Mimicry anywhere in Heroes? (Admin (talk) 20:35, 27 September 2015 (EDT))
- I don't see it named anywhere. I would say that this is a descriptive name. I'll add the template... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:29, 27 September 2015 (EDT)
- How do we know it's smoke and not fog? (Admin (talk) 23:53, 27 September 2015 (EDT))
- We don't know. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:13, 28 September 2015 (EDT)
- So the name is speculative then. It really shouldn't be smoke mimicry, however considering that this minor character may never return the harm in the speculation is probably minimal enough. (Admin (talk) 00:16, 28 September 2015 (EDT))
- How about gas mimicry? Very vague name that does encompass whatever the substance the priest turned into, be it mist, smoke, fog, whatever. -Sincerely, Thrashmeister » talk- 08:20, 28 September 2015 (EDT)
- Good news! (SPOILER AHEAD!) You can read about it on Carlos LaCamara's Twitter account. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 08:45, 28 September 2015 (EDT)
- Ah, interesting. Well, hopefully we'll get some better information in the coming episodes then. (Admin (talk) 12:32, 28 September 2015 (EDT))
- Well, even if the episodes don't shed much light (SPOILER: it looks like Father Mauricio will be back for The Needs of the Many), I still have high hopes that the eBook A Matter of Trust will be much more explicit in talking about his power. The book comes out on Friday and I'll be reading it this weekend... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:35, 5 October 2015 (EDT)

Rename
- Starting a new topic for the rename itself. It's been a few episodes and unfortunately we have no additional information as to the exact nature of his ability. It may be smoke, it may be vapor/fog, it may be something entirely different. Unfortunately any name right now is still speculative and according to our naming guidelines we really should change it to Father Mauricio's ability until we have something more concrete. (Admin (talk) 21:31, 8 October 2015 (EDT))
- An excerpt for the next eBook included with Vengeance, Part 1 includes the moment where Mauricio discovers his powers. I quote: "...he could see a cloud of white smoke or mist gathered around him. No. Not around him. The cloud of smoke was him". So I think the name is fine, as it explicitly refers to it as "smoke". -Kon (talk) 21:37, 8 October 2015 (EDT)
- In keeping with the #4 of the naming standard, I suggest naming this ability "gaseous form", which is a standard term from D&D. --Ted C (talk) 15:40, 5 November 2015 (EST)
- Considering the "smoke" aspect is taken from a near-canonical source, this ability name is kind of a blend of #5 and #2. Changing it to gaseous form would take us in the wrong direction in my opinion. (Admin (talk) 15:49, 5 November 2015 (EST))
- Agree. the only reason it isn't listed as #2 right now is because the book hasnt been released. It will be updated on Nov. 20. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:02, 5 November 2015 (EST)
