First Strike

Orne, did you actually enter the correct code, or did you hack the page? I just had a thought that they may have booby-trapped the site to check the "referrer" attribute. I don't really think so, but it isn't impossible. -- Cuardin 15:06, 22 January 2007 (EST)

I just checked what was in that urldecode function in the page source. I'm not about to go sending my phone # to an unknown "text service". --Orne 16:06, 22 January 2007 (EST)
The unknown text service at the phone number and at the career opportunities page are one and the same. Filling in a mobile number and selecting a provider results in the same text as entering your mobile number on the 800 number. Luckily for all of us, they seem to follow the opt-in mechanisms which the carriers seem to mandate (a reply text must be sent to opt-in to future notifications). Jtatum 13:41, 23 January 2007 (EST)

"primatechpaper.org"

I noticed that some of what used to be on the primatechpaper.org page is gone now. I distinctly remember seeing strange products (including what I think were panties in one picture) that had the primatech logo printed on them. For the life of me I can't find that stuff anymore. I'm guessing that, now that NBC is starting to put stuff on their own primatech page they put the beat down on whomever has that other page and told them to get rid of the tomfoolery.--E rowe 15:11, 22 January 2007 (EST)

  • OK. At least I know I'm not crazy. Check this out: http://www.cafepress.com/destinything/2283706 . This stuff is odd. --E rowe 15:32, 22 January 2007 (EST)
    • The links are still there. Looks like they rotate between some Cafepress ads for merchandise they're selling and Google ads for instance. (Admin 15:34, 22 January 2007 (EST))
  • There's a thread on 9th wonders about this that has some comments by the guy who owns the .org site (http://www.9thwonders.com/boards/index.php?showtopic=42684). I gotta give him his props. I think it's kind of funny.--E rowe 15:42, 22 January 2007 (EST)
    • Thanks for the props! --Clayburn 15:23, 03 February 2007 (MST)

"Trying to crack..."

Uhm... how exactly should one interprate the message from that direct link: http://primatech.mlogic.mobi/info.jsp "Trying to crack into this thing. I’ll let you know how when I do. Give me about a week." -- Cuardin 15:21, 22 January 2007 (EST)

Oh, I just thought it was funny. Kind of shows that the site is a phony. Cool. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:25, 22 January 2007 (EST)
I dunno... almost reminds me of the beginning of the Lost ARG... Anomy 15:31, 22 January 2007 (EST)
Yeah, it does. They're going to put up all these sites that look legitimate and then "hackers" are going to be responsible for "leaks" on the website or something. :) (Admin 15:35, 22 January 2007 (EST))
Rumor is the hacker is Hana --Orne 16:46, 22 January 2007 (EST)

Type 2

Type 2 gives you an email with this response: "Thank you for your interest in Primatech Paper and taking the time to complete our employee application.

We are always interested in unique individuals with special abilities to help us provide the best service to our many clients.

Please retain this email for your records. A Primatech Paper representative will be contacting you in a few weeks with the next steps." So it appears that Type 1 gives the response on this article's main page. Type 2 gives the above, and Type 3 gives below.

Type 3

This is what you get when you answer four or more of the questions as Type 3. Apparently, if you choose one of the other two types, you are considered for a job opening, because a friend of mine got a different email message.

Thank you for your interest in Primatech Paper and taking the time to complete our employee application. Unfortunately, after reviewing your submission, we don't have any openings that match your skill-set at this time. You are always welcome to re-apply at a later date. Cleanup

This article needs some big-time cleanup. It reads more like notes on working the website than an article. Clearer section headings (and removing some parenthetical information) should go a long way.--Hardvice (talk) 01:46, 30 January 2007 (EST)

C002 & C003

I couldn't get access to C002 & C003, and just wondering since I've not seen any information pertaining to it on any website, if anyone was able to access the information. PureSoldier 10:18, 30 January 2007 (EST)

I don't think the content exists yet. The images shown on C001 and C004 (/images/C001_photo.jpg) are part of the site's main image directory (and thus not password protected). No such images exist for 002 and 003, implying the content isn't there yet. MrSparkle 19:16, 30 January 2007 (EST)

IP Address Phenomenon

I noticed that when you fail to enter valid passwords on the site you get a usual "access denied, IP address logged." The interesting thing is the IP address displayed is incorrect. I have confirmed this with a number of people, the address is always wrong. My wife has attempted some simple math on the addresses on paper and haven't come up with anything. Either is an ultrasupersecretcodeofdoom, or we're just paranoid. MrSparkle 19:18, 30 January 2007 (EST)

  • I believe the opposite, its simply RAND.RAND.RAND.RAND. NBC puts up a fake website, invites viewers to hit it, provides links to password protected pages, then threatens to go after their viewers when they follow the links? It's asking for a lawsuit. Besides, all that information is logged behind the scenes on every web server anyway - bouncing a warning message to the users makes you think you "got caught" by the AWI. --Orne 19:27, 30 January 2007 (EST)
    • I agree. It's just fake so people don't freak out thinking that they're logging their actual IPs.--Hardvice (talk) 19:31, 30 January 2007 (EST)
    • It may be fake, but it's not rand.rand.rand.rand because it (seems to be) the same every time for a given address. But yeah, I could be way too paranoid. :-) MrSparkle 19:33, 30 January 2007 (EST)
    • I don't think the address is fake. The one it spit back to me wasn't mine, but it did lead back to my ISP. Check it against the IP Locator and see if yours leads anywhere. Either way, they're definitely not fake. --ZyberGoat 20:17, 31 January 2007 (EST)
    • It definitely spits back a number in the right netrange-- just not the exact IP. I totally get an IP at my university, but a different building. Maybe it's a "we're getting close" thing. Rwun 09:20, 26 February 2007 (EST)

Breaking apart the page?

After this past Monday, more information was introduced for a Hana's website, which is different from PrimatechPaper.com. Should we create a new article and split the information? Or should Hana's info be moved to a Part 3? --Orne 13:06, 8 February 2007 (EST)

  • And what might we call such an article? Howabout Hana's website? Oh look, there's already a page called that!  ;) --Hardvice (talk) 13:11, 8 February 2007 (EST)
  • Less flippantly: yes, I agree that the info pertaining to her site should be moved to that page, while this page should just detail pp.com -- although of course there will be some overlap.--Hardvice (talk) 13:13, 8 February 2007 (EST)
    • I think pp.com is a very different website, not for innocent eyes. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:29, 8 February 2007 (EST)

Blurry Chart image

I found the blurry chart image on my own this morning and was able to discern the following words:

  • top-right: the words "blood" and "shirt"
  • top-left: the word "ships" or "slips"
  • middle-right, second sentence: the word "advanced"
  • bottom-left: "dried blood on both hands"
  • bottom right, first sentence. the words "assignment" and "gifted"
  • bottom-right, second sentence. "she dips(?) description"
  • The name "Hana"

Linderman Group Site

So the announcement went to type 2 players. Looking at the responses, type 2 players are the "good guys". Hmmm. What does this say about Linderman, I wonder?--Hardvice (talk) 09:56, 16 February 2007 (EST)

  • Sending good guys to a gambling website is a good way to corrupt them  :) --Orne 09:41, 26 February 2007 (EST)

Am I the only one who got the latest email late?

A couple of hours ago I received the email that has Hana telling you to go to the H360 commentary site on NBC.com. It says to meet her there before 9pm yesterday. The problem is they didn't even send it until 1:05:02am (GMT -6) and I'd say that counts as a little late.--WolvenSpectre 04:45, 27 February 2007 (EST)

  • I got it about half way through the episode's airing. --Fcphantom 09:38, 27 February 2007 (EST)
  • I got it About 1:00am (GMT-7) also, I thought that maybe it was still relevant, but nope, it was to late. -Level 11:43, 27 February 2007 (EST)

Removing the Emails from PrimatechPaper.Com

Why was the Email section removed and replaced with a link to Hana's website? Not all people can or do take part in the text message part of the game and Hana's website does not contain references to the emails that were sent.

I know that this entry was getting a bit long and unwieldly, but if you are going to trim it, it should be done equally for both texting entries and email. Also it shouldn't just cut the information out. Possibly it should have 2 brief sections that link to an article for each, or a portal, or something.--WolvenSpectre 11:15, 2 March 2007 (EST)

  • The only emails/text messages that were moved were those that relate to Hana's website. This article is not about Heroes360 as a whole -- it's about Primatechpaper.com. The emails about Hana's website belong on Hana's website.--Hardvice (talk) 14:05, 2 March 2007 (EST)

IP Address display on bad password

Using a simple netmon command, I found that the IP primatechpaper.com showed me was just their server's IP address.
