Hiro and the Dinosaur (painting)

Isaac Mendez painted an image of Hiro confronting a dinosaur.

First mentioned: Fallout
Current status: in Isaac's possession

Hiro and the Dinosaur is a painting by Isaac Mendez. It depicts a prophecy which has not yet been fulfilled. The name of the painting is unofficial.

About

Fallout

In his first act of prophetic painting without using drugs, Isaac follows Hiro's advice to "concentrate" and falls into one of his prophetic trances. Hiro and Ando later see the image emerging as the painting nears completion: Hiro appears to be using a sword to fend off an attacking dinosaur (possibly a Tyrannosaurus rex).

Notes

  • Isaac showed the most distinctive symptom of being in one of his precognitive trances -- all white eyes -- while painting this image, making it likely that this is a prophecy.
  • In an interview, Masi Oka said "I'll say it straight up the answer [to the dinosaur painting] will be given in episode twelve. When the first episode comes back you'll see the dinosaur in play. Our shows have always realized Isaac's paintings come to fruition in one form or another. All I can say is that I do work for Industrial Light & Magic and we have worked on a great show called 'Jurassic Park.' What does that mean? I don't know."
