Abilities

How aware do you think Chris is about his abilities? He must notice the lights and he didn't seem surprised by the blast he made to repel the cop. On top of the, he claims that "we're going to start a riot". Is he just mildy aware or do you think he can use it effectively?--PJDEP - Need further explanation? 21:40, 18 February 2010 (EST)

  • Given the gang's comments about his music and how "popular" he is, he probably uses it to draw a crowd like Emma does.--WarGrowlmon18 21:59, 18 February 2010 (EST)
    • It seemed to me that he was very aware of his ability. Be kinda hard to miss that big bright light he creates, and he knew how to send out a blast. I wonder if he can start a riot. His power does draw people in, but does it influence peoples mood enough to cause violence? If he can affect mood that much, why not calm the cops down?--Ratclaws 22:03, 18 February 2010 (EST)
      • I was thinking along those lines to. As for not calming the cops down, I think he was in a vengeful mood at that point.--PJDEP - Need further explanation? 22:04, 18 February 2010 (EST)

Relationship to Emma

She can't be his sister. Niece or daughter maybe, but if she was his sister she'd be forty something instead of twenty something. Also, 6 years before season 4 Emma went to Medical School. That's 2003 not 1963. WarGrowlmon18 16:29. 21 February 2010

  • Forty something? If Emma were 18 when she went to nursing school in 1963, she would be 64 years old in 2009. That's more along Dr. Coolidge's age than Emma's age. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:14, 21 February 2010 (EST)
    • I never thought about the vast age difference. The fact that they have the same last name, power, and he mentioned medical school in his family, I think it's abundantly apparent that Emma and Chris are related. Plus, her dead nephew was named Christopher, so he was probably named after Chris. My bet is the little sister he mentioned was Dr. Coolidge. Can nurses be upgraded to doctor? RGS, your contacts might help us clear up the confusion, because we certainly aren't waiting a week to find out. --Piemanmoo 20:36, 21 February 2010 (EST)
      • If they get additional education, or graduated medical school beforehand but choose to become a nurse for whatever reason, I believe so. Otherwise, I don't think so.--PJDEP - Talk - Polls and Opinions 21:15, 21 February 2010 (EST)
      • We would wait until it's confirmed, one way or another. However, we'll find out more about Chris Coolidge on Tuesday morning. I'm not sure what specifically, but we'll definitely be getting more of the story in Part 2. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:36, 21 February 2010 (EST)
        • Since it was confirned by Howie Kaplan that Chris is Emma's uncle, shouldn't that information go in the Coolidges' info boxes? --Skullman1392 00:03, 3 March 2010 (EST)
          • I asked this on Emma's talk page. The only reason I haven't added it yet is because I'm not sure if there is a reason for its omission.--PJDEP - Talk - Polls and Opinions 00:06, 3 March 2010 (EST)
  • Kaplan confirmed that Emma is Coolidge's niece and all, but does that really confirm his relationship to Dr. Coolidge? I know there's an implication she's his sister, but unless she kept her maiden name for herself and her children, wouldn't she be Chris' sister-in-law?--Tim Thomason 05:49, 3 March 2010 (EST)
    • That's correct, Tim. We don't know whether Chris is Dr. Coolidge's sister or sister-in-law. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 08:07, 3 March 2010 (EST)
      • If Doctor Coolidge is a widow or divorced, she may have switched back to her maiden name. There is no sign of Emma's dad on the show or mention of him so she may be widowed or divorced.--WarGrowlmon18 10:09, 3 March 2010 (EST)

Bob Dylan

Anyone else think that Chris resembles Bob Dylan? Whenever I look at him I think Bob Dylan.--Icefire227 17:07, 6 March 2010 (EST)

Assignment Tracker Update

It's now out. These last two assignment trackers have been weird. I suggest not updating the wiki for a few days since some of the stuff is quite wrong, for example, chris' profile and mindy's profile both use electric manipulation for the diagram, chris' profile calls his ability empathic manipulation, which is totally wrong. The past two assignment trackers aren't really up to scratch, are they?--mc_hammark 18:05, 28 March 2010 (EDT)

  • I suggest reverting recent changes regarding Mindy's ability, and possible protection of articles, so people have no choice but to go to talk pages. Info on biography and psychological evaluation seem to be ok, the only things which kill these are the abilities. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 18:07, 28 March 2010 (EDT)
    • Not all of Mindy's things cause a question to be raised, just the full name... but Chris's goes against previous information. I do agree that the pages should be protected though. --mc_hammark 18:10, 28 March 2010 (EDT)
      • I had already found Mindy's AT suspicious because of the name of the ability, it's way too long. If the GN this week calls her ability something else, I'd support that name because of the unusual circumstances. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 18:12, 28 March 2010 (EDT)
        • Yeah, but I also support the Energy absorption name, since it's the same kind of thing as Electric absorption. --mc_hammark 18:13, 28 March 2010 (EDT)
  • They can't even agree with themselves. Chris Coolidge's file says he was born in Worcester, MA up at the top (which kinda had me go "whoo!"), and then further down it says he was born and raised in Missoula, MT. What? --Ricard Desi
    • AND they don't cite Syn Anders who also has a (DIFFERENT) ability called "empathic manipulation". And if they knew about Emma's ability, why wouldn't hers be linked as a similar ability? (Unless of course, they happen to have very similar-looking, yet still different, abilities). This is a whole mess of contradictions... --Ricard Desi 18:26, 28 March 2010 (EDT)
  • I will give them credit for a very authentic Chris Coolidge picture, though. --Ricard Desi 18:27, 28 March 2010 (EDT)
  • Let's remember to discuss the issues with Mindy's AT on Mindy's talk page.

The image of the abilities is definitely a mistake--it even has Elle's number on them. However, I'm prone to believe that Chris's power is called "empathic manipulation". It describes what he does--he manipulates people empathically through his music. His "sound waves impact emotions". In fact, nowhere does it ever say that Chris's power is enhanced synesthesia. Primatech's files only list that as a possible ability. It's entirely plausible that more was discovered about Chris's ability after his death, and after the file was written. As for Worcester, it's pretty obviously an oversight...however, it's very possible for a person to be born in one place, and then move to another place at a very young age, in which case somebody might say that they were "born and raised" in the second place. That's the case with my cousin--she was physically born in New Mexico. When she was about 2 or 3 months old, her family moved to Arkansas. I could alternately say that she was "born in New Mexico" or that she was "born and raised in Arkansas". It's like saying that something happened 30 years ago, even though it was really 31 years ago. It's an approximation people make, even though it's not technically correct. Since it was the narrative that says that Chris was born and raised in Montana, I can see that being the case here, too. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:30, 28 March 2010 (EDT)

    • It also has "F" for his sex...--BOYCOOL -- THE END IS NIGH. 20:32, 28 March 2010 (EDT)
      • I think it's rather speculative to say more was learned on the ability after Chris died. Plus, the ability name is already used to describe another ability, which though having some similarities, has very distinguishing points. I'd hate to see this becoming the super/enhanced strength debate, version 2 because of the same name, different means to achieve effect. Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 20:42, 28 March 2010 (EDT)
        • It is speculative to say that more was learned about the ability after he died. That's why I'm saying it on the talk page and we're not saying it on the main page. I'm just saying it's an explanation as to why "empathic manipulation" was not in his Primatech file. I'll ask Howie, Foz, and some others for clarification. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:18, 28 March 2010 (EDT)

Listing about his relationship with his sister

Okay, ew incest first of all, second of all if he really did have a relationship with his sister like that, maybe he is Emma's father.--WarGrowlmon18 00:11, 29 March 2010 (EDT)

  • Here's the thing, the wording is... yes, extremely implicative, but it could be simply clumsy wording on the part of whoever wrote it. One can be intimately familiar with a person without being physical or anything. ...then again, it's also implied he had sex with lots of people, male and female, all the time, so... yeah. Let's not think too hard on this one. --Ricard Desi 00:21, 29 March 2010 (EDT)
  • Also, if Chris was Emma's father, she would have to be at least 47 by now, which she definitely isn't. --Ricard Desi 00:23, 29 March 2010 (EDT)
    • Uh it was mostly a joke. But think about this: we have no idea how old Emma's sibling is and we know they named their kid after him (AT says as much) so maybe he's the sibling's father and they named their child after him as a result.--WarGrowlmon18 00:51, 29 March 2010 (EDT)
  • The Assignment Tracker says that Chris "opted primarily for multiple daily sexual assignations...Primary intimate relationship appears to have been with his sister." I'll ask around for some clarification. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 16:33, 29 March 2010 (EDT)
    • It'll be a major squick if Chris turns out to be Emma's father. Is that even possible? I mean, as far as timeline is concerned? Intuitive Empath - Talk - Contributions 17:36, 29 March 2010 (EDT)
      • I just got an email from Howie Kaplan saying that Chris is not Emma's father (no, I don't think the timeline would work out to allow that), and that he did not have a sexual relationship with Emma's mother. Thank goodness. I am waiting for clarification from Carri Wagner and some others. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:34, 29 March 2010 (EDT)
