Talk:Hiro Nakamura (childhood past)
Do we really need pages for past characters? Just wondering. -- Psilaq R.- \m/ -_- \m/-
- This is a reoccuring past character of a significant cast member. We have several pages for future characters, it shouldn't be of any less importance. Young Hiro has appeared in 6 episodes and 1 graphic novel...he really want's his own page, Yatta!!! --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 01/26/2009 17:26 (EST)
- I think future characters have their own pages because they are from alternate futures (the key word being "alternate"). Then again, the young Hiros that were shown via time travel are slightly alternate to present-day Hiro. The problems with this view is that we can't be sure which timeline Company Man and Past Experience showed us, and that these Hiros seem to turn out the same way as the main Hiro, much like the two Claire Bennet (exposed future)s (from The Second Coming and I Am Become Death). - Josh (talk/contribs) 17:43, 26 January 2009 (EST)
- I'm calling an admin to shut this page down. It was said several times that these type of pages wouldn't be created.--Citizen 17:49, 26 January 2009 (EST)
- I agree, I don't think we need this page. Pages about future characters exist because those future characters don't exist once the future changes. Hiro Nakamura (explosion future) ceased to exist once the future changed and the explosion occurred differently, and Hiro Nakamura (exposed future) ceased to exist once the formula was destroyed. Those pages chronicle those no-longer-existing characters. Hiro as a child continues to exist. He grew up to be Hiro Nakamura, and changes to the future will change that. Plus, if we start making pages for "past" characters, where do we draw the line? Hiro once went back in time a few minutes. Do we make a page for that "past" Hiro? What about when he went back two hours? A few days? Months? Years? Centuries? (Yes, he's done all of those.) I think we only need to limit alternate character pages to future versions of those characters, not past versions. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:26, 26 January 2009 (EST)
- But this is an actual character...a person who is different that Masi Oki. A person who has lines, interaction with others in the show, and is unique to the show. Because of time travel, we know they are a younger version of Hiro; however they are still an active member of the cast who has been uniquely and specifically explored in 6 episodes and one graphic novel...and may very well continue to occassionally appear in future episodes. This specific Hiro has aldready done unique things apart and separate from present hiro, and along with present hiro. We don't have pages for all of the various future people; but for the main ones who've had a unique role we do. This young hiro shouldn't be any different. He is a part of the show. He is cannon. And he is not fullgrown, present-day hiro. He deserves his own page and documentation. Flo has her own page; and is way much less significant of a contribution to the Heroesverse that this young Hiro character; but we have many pages of insignificant and pass-through characters like Flo. Young Hiro is a much more developed character, and should have a page documenting his involvement with the show; since it has been more than a passing blip. --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 01/26/2009 22:09 (EST)
- The page about Hiro Nakamura is not a page about Masi Oka, but about Hiro Nakamura, from his birth until the present. All of his history should be included on that page, not on separate pages. I agree, the character is from canon sources--and his history is important. Essential, even. It belongs at Hiro Nakamura#Character History. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:12, 26 January 2009 (EST)
