Mr. Nakamura is an evolved human.	None.	+ Kaito tells Hiro that he has waited a long time for a Nakamura to ascend and that he has proven yourself worthy of his legacy and his power. When Hiro asks his father about his own power, his father replies, saying that he knows, but for a time, he did not believe Hiro had the strength to wield his gift. Kaito continues, saying that years ago, he had allies, others with power and that they fought to save the world. (Landslide) + Kaito is affiliated with the Company, which is also affiliated with Linderman. He may be one of Linderman's super-powered associates from the past. + Micah's and Claire's abilities have been inherited. If this is consistent, Mr. Nakamura also has powers. + Kaito has been expecting the ascension of a Nakamura, which means he knows that power runs in the Nakamura family. + When Kaito says that he had "allies... others with power" it is not clear if the first person relatively to "others" is Hiro or himself. - Kaito may simply be skilled in normal means, such as his demonstrated swordmanship, or even in a similar way to Noah Bennet.
Mr. Nakamura is the head of the Company.	None.	+ He seems to have incredible sway over other members of the Company (Company Man). + He is powerful enough to order Noah Bennet to adopt Claire (Company Man). + He also is known to have significant resources at his disposal, given how easily he monitors and abducts Hiro and Ando (Distractions). + Some members of the Company speak Japanese, possibly having learned the language at the orders of Mr. Nakamura. (Company Man) - In a conversation with Hiro, he tells him that he has friends who have tried to save the world but now have lost their way. Later on, he trains Hiro and helps him gain more confidence and strength, and later blesses his journey to save Ando from Sylar. It is implied that he finds the plot of Linderman and his allies distasteful.
Mr. Nakamura has been hiding Hiro from the Company.	None.	- Mr. Nakamura tells Mr. Bennet he will have to turn over Claire when and if she manifests a power (Company Man) and Kaito has not turned over Hiro to the Company. + It may well be that his high-up position in The Company (see the above theory) enabled him to forego normal procedures.
Mr. Nakamura's organization is a competitor to Linderman's organization.	None.	+ Mr. Nakamura's organization is powerful and well funded. Linderman's people act independently of the Company, and no one associated with Linderman that we know of has tracking marks. - Linderman can call upon Company resources for assistance, indicating that he either controls the Company or is influential within it. Kaito Nakamura is Takezo Kensei and has either teleported to the present (or returned here depending when he's originally from) or is extremely long-lived (or immortal).	Kaito tells Hiro that he has waited a "long time" for a Nakamura to ascend. He never thought it would be Hiro, but he has proven to be worthy of his legacy and his power. (Landslide)	+ On Yamagato Fellowship, there is a picture of Takezo Kensei that shows rollover text of "Kaito Nakamura". + Kaito often told Hiro stories about Takezo Kensei. + Kaito also has a sword and is skilled with it. + In an interview, George Takei strongly implied that Takezo Kensei is Hiro's ancestor. • It has been suggested that Kaito is one of the older generation of evolved humans that included Linderman. If so, we don't yet know what his power is. + When Hiro goes back in time to feudal Japan, Takezo Kensei looks remarkably similar to Kaito. Of course, he is wearing armor and a mask, so it is impossible to tell for sure. (How to Stop an Exploding Man). + When Kaito said "a long time" and "a Nakamura" instead of "you or your sister", he suggested that he hoped that more Nakamuras could have "ascended", probably in different generations. + The name "Kaito" can be formed by taking letters out of "Takezo Kensei". + If you take the first three letters of "Takezo" and combine them with the last two letters of "Kensei", they form "Takei", the last name of the actor who portrays Kaito Nakamura. + Kaito Nakamura is Takezo Kensei and has the power to live for thousands of years. He has been waiting generations for one of his offspring to exhibit powers and it has now occurred. He has watched and waited and now has the honor to help teach Hiro his skills in Samurai. He is now a competitor to Linderman and is one of the ancient heroes who believe in honor (we should see more of them in season two.) + When Mr. Nakamura first draws the sword and looks into it his eyes look very similar to the eyes that were the only part of Kensei's body shown through the armor. + Takezo was born in 1584. That means that when Hiro teleported to 1671, Kensei was 87. Without immortality or some similar power, he would not be able to ride around on horseback and fight at such an advanced age. - In T.V. Guide it stated that Takezo Kensei is not Asian so Kaito Nakamura can not be him.
Mr. Nakamura has the power of enhanced teaching.	None.	+ Mr. Nakamura taught Hiro advanced sword techniques in the course of one day. (Landslide) - Mr. Nakamura says that has been waiting for a member of his family to ascend, suggesting he has no powers of his own.(Landslide). + He could have just meant he was waiting for one of his children to ascend. - In director/producer Beeman's blog, he states that Kaito "was worried it would seem foolish that Hiro learned so much [about swordsmanship] in just a few hours." This indicates that enhanced teaching is not likely to be his power.
Kaito Nakamura's power is enhanced sword skill, or some other fighting ability.	None.	+ Hiro's conversation with his father strongly mirrored Nathan's conversation with Linderman. Linderman answered Nathan's question ("What could you possibly know about healing?") by using his power on a plant. Kaito answered Hiro's question ("What can you possibly know... of killing?") by performing some maneuvers with a sword. - In an interview, Pokaski and Coleite was asked, "I have a theory on Kaito Nakamura's power. When Nathan is speaking with Linderman, when Linderman heals the plant he states that he knows 'a few things' about healing. When Hiro asks his father what he knows about killing, he also responds 'a few things.' Am I on to something?" Their response was "Nope." - It does not take a superhuman ability to be skilled with a sword.
Kaito Nakamura is no longer with the company	None	+ He helped Hiro to train to kill Sylar to stop the explosion, which was against Linderman's plans, and Linderman owns the company. - He may have known that Sylar doesn't explode, and was just distracting Hiro by letting him think that Sylar explodes so that Hiro wouldn't stop Peter, and Peter would still explode. + In a conversation with Hiro, he tells him that he has friends who have tried to save the world but now have lost their way. Later on, he trains Hiro and helps him gain more confidence and strength, and later blesses his journey to save Ando from Sylar. It is implied that he finds the plot of Linderman and his allies distasteful.
