Move

Given that Flint's Assignment Tracker confirms that he's "Flint Gordon Jr.", and what with his father calling Flint "Junior" in Playing with Fire, I think it's safe to assume that Mr Gordon's name is Flint Gordon Sr... Are there any objections to this? I thought I better check before moving it... --Bohrok Awakener 13:49, 18 November 2008 (EST)

  • I did move it thinking that the assignment tracker called the father "Flint", but it never did--I moved the page back. I agree, it's pretty safe to assume...but I guess it's still an assumption. Flint could have been named after an uncle, a grandfather, etc. I myself was named after an uncle and was called "Junior" when I was younger. In a sillier case, David H. Lawrence XVII was not named after his father. :) I don't really mind the page moving to show that Flint's father is named Flint, but only if there's a consensus to do so. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:55, 18 November 2008 (EST)
    • I'm for the rename.--Bob (talk) 15:20, 21 November 2008 (EST)
      • I Agree with bob--Gabriel Bishop 16:41, 25 November 2008 (EST)Gabriel Bishop
        • Based on several canon and near-canon references, this is a logical and justifiable move. Ricard Desi 16:44, 25 November 2008 (EST)
          • I concur, just came here to suggest the same thing. --Matchu 17:28, 25 November 2008 (EST)

Er, whoops

Sorry about the issue with the move. Unfortunately, because Flint Gordon, Sr. existed, it wouldn't allow me to use the Move function. --Ricard Desi 17:08, 3 December 2008 (EST)

  • No problem. I edited the redirect page on purpose a while back so that it would make the move really difficult while the issue was being discussed. It's gone unopposed (except with a minor reservation from me, but I'm fine with the move) so it's a good move to make. However, moves should be done using the "move" function, not by copying and pasting. Otherwise the history is not preserved and the move doesn't show up in the move log. In that kind of a case, there are a few ways around the issue that I don't suggest using (namely moving the redirect to another redirect, then the page to the first redirect...) but the best thing to do is to have an administrator do the move. No worries! :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:12, 3 December 2008 (EST)
