Template talk:Pinehearst

Until we have more information on this company, I would hold off on having this template, and instead just have a category for now. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:32, 16 October 2008 (EDT)

  • I think there's enough info about Pinehearst now to keep the template, and it's a primary part of the story and evolutions atm.--MiamiVolts (talk) 18:33, 16 October 2008 (EDT)
    • On a related note, I would actually like to see all these navbars deleted. The one for Jessica's victims was a long time ago, and the one for the Company went away, too. I'd rather use the related articles pages, which was started and looks very nice. Extra navbars make a page look bulky and defeats the purpose. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:52, 16 October 2008 (EDT)
      • I agree with that, and that each page should use no more than one navbar. But as along as we have one for the Company, we minus well keep the Pinehearst one as well.--MiamiVolts (talk) 19:06, 16 October 2008 (EDT)
        • We don't have one for the Company. I think all we have left is one for Linderman's operations, Sylar's articles, and this one for Pinehearst. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 04:49, 17 October 2008 (EDT)

I guess I'll start a more official section for discussing deletion... :) This template is nice and looks very good, so the issue is less about the actual navbar, and more about navbars in general. We previously deleted a similar navbar for Jessica's victims (see here) and for the Company (see here). There's been talk of killing the Sylar template (see here), and I've also nominated the Linderman template for deletion (see here). The issue is that lots of navbars make a page look really gross--they're too bulky, and they ultimately defeat the purpose of easy navigation. I say we just get rid of them and stick to the nice navbars we usually have (the ones that link all characters, or the ones that link all transportation-related places, or the ones that link all drugs together, etc.)...then these subject-related navbars could better be represented in a Related Articles page, or a list page. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 04:59, 17 October 2008 (EDT)

  • Can certainly see where a bunch of navbars would get cluttered. I'm wondering if one or two "seasonal" navbars is too much, though. Pinehearst, for example, is one of the big players in Season 3, so having a template for it for this season might not be bad. Jessica's victim's and the Linderman Group templates can fade away, since they're no longer major features of the series. --Ted C 07:20, 17 October 2008 (EDT)
    • The Company is a much bigger player, and I actually its template very useful...but it grew too large and was beheaded. I think we should do all or nothing, to be honest. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:10, 17 October 2008 (EDT)
      • Yeah, I had forgotten that it was the Linderman's Operations template that was left and not the Company's, but either way I still think it'd be okay to axe it and the Sylar template. As for the Season navbars, I think we should only keep the latest-most season that applies to said character/actor on his/her page.--MiamiVolts (talk) 13:42, 17 October 2008 (EDT)
  • I have to agree with you that some of the navigation templates are too combersome. I would rather see the list of articles related to Sylar article then just a template that attempts to hold of this information. I think it is a good idea to list all subject matter together, but I like the list option better then a nav tool. Also, if we use the Related Articles:Sylar as the only place to list articles related to a subject matter it will get just as combersome as the nav templates and not only that but since it is graphic intense it will be slow for some to download. --Pinkkeith 13:50, 17 October 2008 (EDT)

  • I find this and the other templates like this annoying, when looking at information, because at times, it splits information up (Unknowingly) and I also feel that theses types of templates can be crowding the page for information. Also, for Arthur Petrelli. He was part of the company, pinehearst, list of articles related to Sylar, and Linderman. So are all of these templates on his page? If not, why aren't they? He is part of them.
