Removal of absurd "Bill Bellichek" Theory

I'm Going to remove the ridiculous and non-sequitir theory that an NFL Football coach is the hooded killer. If anyone has a problem with that feel free to revert to an earlier page edit and be ready to give a good reason why.--JYHash 04:26, 16 October 2007 (EDT)

  • See Help:Theories. The only grounds for removing a theory is if proves true or proves false. Merely silly or absurd theories which are technically possible should not be removed. See most anything on Theory:Mr. Muggles or Theory:Waffles. Listing a theory on the page merely reports that the theory exists. It is not an endorsement of the theory itself.--Hardvice (talk) 04:44, 16 October 2007 (EDT)
  • But at what point do we consider non-sequitir and unhelpful edits to be vandalism? Sure, if you speculate within the breadth of the series (i.e. It may be absurd that, say, Mohinder is the Killer or even Molly, but at least it stays within the series scope.) it should be retained until proven false. But if it is something that has no relation to the series in any way outside of mocking the fact that people are creating theories, I think it should be removed and cited as potential vandalism. Or at least held up for a vote as to whether or not it should be retained by the wiki community.--JYHash 04:50, 16 October 2007 (EDT)
  • Personally, I think you're over-reacting. The theory was meant to be funny. It was added by a user who is most definitely not a vandal. And eventually, we'll find out who the killer is and it will go away. No harm, no foul. If we got rid of all of the theories I think are ridiculous, we'd have about three theories left.--Hardvice (talk) 05:28, 16 October 2007 (EDT)
  • Agreed. Initially, we had an influx of theories about waffles and Mr. Muggles, but that's what's "fun" about the fan-side of this site. It's not wikipedia, it's still a fan site. See fan powers for example. The theory sections are not meant as a means of using canon material, but speculation by fans.--Bob (Talk) 12:01, 16 October 2007 (EDT)
awww. I miss having Belichek on there. Besides, you almost have to suspect him of having some kind of strange power over his opponents...Aapold 15:57, 29 October 2007 (EDT)

The truth revealed

So now that Takezo and Adam are the same person, and both are known to be the killer per Out of Time, what shall happen to this page? -- Riffsyphon1024 22:27, 5 November 2007 (EST)

I think this page should be merged with Theory:Adam Monroe. I know that's unpopular around here, but it would keep the page history for people to see and the redirect can be deleted. Just my opinion.--Tim Thomason 16:59, 25 November 2007 (EST)

  • Yes, you're absolutely right. I didn't know it was afd'ed. I made it a redirect so the history is preserved. A redirect doesn't hurt anything. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:16, 25 November 2007 (EST)
