- (Semi-unrelated) When you reply to my questions or comments could you possibly write them on my talk page? If not, I don't know you've replied. Thanks. :) --Ohmyn0 01:47, 7 November 2006 (EST)
- I can copy them both places, I suppose, but I like to keep them together so I can refer back to conversations as conversations if I need to, and not just as pages of unanswered comments.--Hardvice 01:51, 7 November 2006 (EST)

location template
I'm getting frustrated with this template, but I think I have enough completed on it. The only problem is the image shows up as its entire size. I can't control it! Please help. ---- 02:14, 9 November 2006 (EST)
- I set it to 250px. You can adjust that as you see fit, or you can change it to "thumb" to use each person's individual thumb setting. I also added a variable to turn the Wikipedia link on and off; it will only link to WP if you have WPLink=yes in the template call when you use it.--Hardvice (talk) 02:18, 9 November 2006 (EST)
Tag Team Cleanup
Wow, what a system we have here: I make pages, and you correct them all. You're the best!
(I just really love this show and want this wiki to grow stronger, however I'm still learning wiki tricks...) ---- 19:55, 9 November 2006 (EST)
- I'm just afraid that crew pages are the sort of thing that gets written quickly and then never updated. I want to make sure they're as up-to-date as possible since it's unlikely somebody will come back and edit them unless they have an image or episode to add.--Hardvice (talk) 19:59, 9 November 2006 (EST)
Images
- It's best not to specify both thumb and a pixel width on images. Thumb allows users to control the width they see displayed through their preferences.--Hardvice (talk) 01:59, 12 November 2006 (EST)
- Also, if you are uploading an image to replace an old one (like Mr. Muggles), it's best to upload it over the old file. That way, we don't end up with a bunch of unlinked images, and as a bonus, you don't have to change the articles that link to it.--Hardvice (talk) 02:09, 12 November 2006 (EST)
That will let you sign posts using the toolbar button or by entering four tildes.--Hardvice (talk) 02:31, 12 November 2006 (EST)
blank.jpg
- Check it out. Is that what you had in mind?--Hardvice (talk) 19:15, 12 November 2006 (EST)
Redirect to Categories
- When redirecting to categories, please put a colon before the word "category" in the redirect, like this: #REDIRECT :Category: Evolved Humans. This will prevent the redirect itself from being categorized.--Hardvice (talk) 03:42, 15 November 2006 (EST)
Image Sources
- Can you add a source for Image:Daniellesavre.JPG? We're trying to be better about noting the sources for our images. Thanks!--Hardvice (talk) 22:05, 28 November 2006 (EST)
Thanks
Hey, thanks for all the work you've been doing on the crew -- I think those pages are such a chore, so I'm glad somebody's doing it! - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 23:06, 29 November 2006 (EST)
Promotional Images
When you use image-promotional, can you also note the website you got the image from? Thanks!--Hardvice (talk) 19:30, 30 November 2006 (EST)
Pipes in Template calls
Just so you know, pipes don't always work in template calls. It usually interprets the pipe as the start of the next variable.--Hardvice (talk) 23:47, 30 November 2006 (EST)
Image Standard Sizes
If you just leave me a message with what qualifies a picture to be "standard size", I can automatically do that, no sweat. ---- 12:18, 1 December 2006 (EST)
- The same as other photos in the category. It's listed in the appropriate image category when I've remembered to put it there. 200x250 for character, cast, and crew portraits. 300x169 for the sidebar images for episodes (300px at 16x9 aspect ratio). 300x225 (or so) for Graphic Novel images. I haven't really standardised them yet for locations and places, because so far they all seem to work, but roughly the same size and shape as the others in the category is best.
If it doesn't go in a sidebar or a portal, it doesn't really matter. Otherwise, they should be consistent.--Hardvice (talk) 12:41, 1 December 2006 (EST)
Redirects
- Redirects to a particular section don't work. (Admin 20:46, 5 December 2006 (EST))
- Yeah, I tried that one, too - great idea, just too bad it doesn't work! - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:00, 6 December 2006 (EST)
- I was reading the documentation on this yesterday. (1) While you can put a #Section in a link, the Redirect will not honor it, and the developers have no intention of changing this behavior any time soon. (2) You *can* put extra information into a Redirect page, but.. All text between the #REDIRECT keyword and the first link are ignored, and all information after the first link is ignored (not rendered)... except (3) Apparently if you put category information in a Redirect page, it will be honored, however I am not sure if this was a feature in development or something that made it into the official release. --Orne 09:26, 6 December 2006 (EST)

Episode articles
- Hey, Ohmyn0. I noticed on Episode:Seven Minutes to Midnight you took out the "For a complete summary" section. Was this on purpose? Those are in there to support AOTW. (Admin 01:30, 9 December 2006 (EST))
- Since removing them all will affect a large number of articles, I'd recommend discussing it on a talk page first and soliciting some feedback so we can see how everyone feels about the change. Generally it's usually a good thing to get feedback before making design changes to a large number of articles just to make sure everyone's on the same page. (Admin 01:37, 9 December 2006 (EST))
- Ditto Season One. Major changes are usually made for a reason; in this case, the page looked like poo at low screen res because the text wrapped around the images.--Hardvice (talk) 02:05, 9 December 2006 (EST)
Forced Thumb Widths
Please stop forcing thumbnail widths. It's really bad webdesign to override a user's expressed preferences. If you want to see bigger thumbs yourself, then change your preferences for thumbnail display. Otherwise, it's only acceptable to force it for consistent elements like tables, templates, and lists.--Hardvice (talk) 13:15, 9 December 2006 (EST)
Piping Links to Redirects
Hi! Quick question: I noticed you've been changing the episode names in articles from a redirect to the actual episode articles name (ie, from Fallout to Fallout. I was just wondering why? I'm only asking because it seems like more trouble than it's worth - I'm pretty sure links to redirects are fine. In the end, I don't really mind, I just wanted to save you some time. :) - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:23, 14 December 2006 (EST)
Ohmyn0 is a power!
Awesome. You're showing up as a power now ... - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:26, 15 December 2006 (EST)
- Whoops. I just wanted to put infoboxes in my profile. I completely forgot that it auto adds to the category. ----
