    • You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.

Grammar and Spelling mistakes and POV on Theories pages

Hi. I noticed you're adding some theories about people to the thoeries pages. Frankly, you're making a ton of mistakes. "Clair" is actually spelled "Claire", we prefer to call "Super Powers" just "powers" and I notice you're putting "I have no idea...". We try to avoid first person like that. Next time, if you're making a change, try clicking the preview changes button. Heroe 11:36, 18 February 2007 (EST)

  • Welcome, ScarCat! Though you had some spelling mistakes, we want to thank you for your contributions to the site. All contributions are welcome. Heroe gives some good suggestions, but we are grateful to any contributions you make. Don't worry if you make a mistake, somebody will help you out and clean it for you. Enjoy the site! :) — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:07, 18 February 2007 (EST)
    • I really hope you don't take my comments rudely. My intention is not to point out your mistakes (hey, I make them too -- a lot!), but to make you feel welcome. I just didn't want anybody else's comments or edits to turn you away from the site. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 14:45, 18 February 2007 (EST)
  • Hey, ScarCat. If someone corrects you, it's nothing personal. :) In fact you can take it as a compliment that they're willing to point out the mistake and help you learn for next time. It actually shows we value your contributions and want to help you learn how to make high quality edits. Don't think of it as derisive mocking like you may get at a trek convention, but instead a helping hand you might receive from a teacher who's genuinely interested in helping you learn. :) (Admin 14:48, 18 February 2007 (EST))
  • All I can add is that while I don't in any way condone the tone of the original comment to you, which was out of line, I think it's a mistake on your part to assume that the actions of one editor on a Wiki represent the opinions and attitudes of everyone. Whether you choose to stay here or not, that's an important distinction to make.--Hardvice (talk) 15:02, 18 February 2007 (EST)
