On October 2nd, unknown circumstances led to the fiery derailment of a train in the town of [[Odessa, TX]]. In the pilot episode of the series, [[Episode:Genesis|Genesis]], [[Claire Bennet|Claire]] and [[Zach]] come across the police line surrounding the wreck on the way home from one of her "attempts". Seeing another opportunity to test the limits of her regenerative ability, [[Claire Bennet|Claire]] charged into one of the burning cars while [[Zach]] videotaped from afar. Inside the car, she noticed a firefighter overcome by the heat and smoke, whom she rescued. When a firefighter noticed the lack of burns on her body, [[Claire Bennet|Claire]] fled.

On October 2nd, unknown circumstances led to the fiery derailment of a train in the town of Odessa, TX. In the pilot episode of the series, Genesis, Claire and Zach come across the police line surrounding the wreck on the way home from one of her attempts. Seeing another opportunity to test the limits of her regenerative ability, Claire charged into one of the burning cars while Zach videotaped from afar. Inside the car, she noticed a firefighter overcome by the heat and smoke, whom she rescued. When a firefighter noticed the lack of burns on her body, Claire fled.
