In biology, structures that are anatomically different yet accomplish similar tasks are said to be homologous. A similar phenomenon can be seen in some evolved human abilities

Homologous Abilities

The following table lists tasks abilities can accomplish and the abilities that can perform them.

Alter the perceptions of others Dream manipulation While someone is in the dream state, Sanjog can alter a persons dream and conjure images of past events in them.
Illusion Users can make people perceive whatever the user wants them to perceive.
Telepathy Maury can make people see things that aren't there and can trap people in vivid nightmares.
Generate heat or flame Induced radioactivity Heat is a form of radiation, and has been released by the use of this ability.

Radiation generated by this ability has ignited objects.

Lightning Elle has used the electrical arcs generated to weld a lock inoperable, which requires heat.

Pyrokinesis This is the ability to create flames.
Force another to do one's will Eric's ability Eric Doyle can force his victim's body to do what he wishes, in spite of the conscious objections of the victim.
