Au Co and her friend come under attack from Dallas.
Character History
Graphic Novel:War Buddies, Part 4
Au Co causes the vegetables in her village to grow rapidly as her friend watches on, proud (but not surprised) by Au Co's ability.
Later, when Au Co's village comes under Dallas's attack, Au Co and her friend begin to run away from the burning village.
Graphic Novel:War Buddies, Part 7
Linderman recalls the Vietnam War, specifically when he shot Au Co, and her friend held the young girl, mourning her.
Notes
- In the original version of War Buddies, Part 5, Jason Badower drew Au Co's friend getting shot, too. He figured that when Arthur unloaded his gun, he would have hit her also. However, NBC asked Jason to remove the woman from the scene, as "they felt her presence distracting to the central image of Au Co being killed."
