There are a few crazy complicated things you can do for your signature (like [[User:Altes|Altes]]'s signature, for instance) but I'm not quite sure how to make them that intricate. If you need any more help, or any explanation on what I just wrote, feel free to leave a message on my talk page. You might also want to check out [[Help:Signatures]]. Hope this answered your question.--{{User:PJDEP/signature1}} 17:41, 9 March 2010 (EST) |

** Another little thing, if you create a page called "User:Boycool42/Autosig" then add <nowiki>{{User:Boycool42/sig}}</nowiki> it will get rid of coding on talk pages. Then, you'd need to go to your preferences and in the nickname field you'd replace {{subst:User:Boycool42/sig}} with {{subst:User:Boycool42/Autosig}}. Hope that helps aswell! :) --{{User:Leckie/Signature 10}} 18:00, 9 March 2010 (EST) |

Welcome to Heroes Wiki!
Here are a few links to get you started:
- If you are new to Heroes, you might want to start at the New User Portal.
- If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
- If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style.
- If you're ready to get started, Template:Todo lists some ways you can help out.
- Of course, if you have your own idea for a new article, that's great, too.
- Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
- To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the "Summary" field before you save your changes.
- You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
- When posting on an article's Talk page you should add --~~~~ or click the signature button.
- This will add a signature and timestamp to the end of your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
- Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
- When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
- If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for an administrator.
- You can also customize your user page if you like.
- Additionally, if you would like to add any fanmade content to the Wiki, please do so by adding the prefix User:Boycool42/ to the page title when you create the page.
Once again, welcome to Heroes Wiki!
Hi Boycool
Hey there, if you edit a page (in this case your userpage), dont save it directly. There is a button next to save page called show preview, this shows how it's going to look like without saving it. Otherwise it's messing up the recent changes page. When the page looks the way you want it, then you can save it. If you need more help just leave a message at my talk page:)-- Yoshi | Talk | Contributions 16:47, 15 January 2010 (EST)
Talk Pages
Hey, just to let you know, you're not supposed to remove comments from talk pages like you did with Talk:René. All comments made are supposed to remain. I've gone ahead and undone it for you, but please remember not to do it again. --mc_hammark 09:09, 24 January 2010 (EST)
- Thanks. Yeah, how do you make user pages (like your "Herpes" one)? --Boycool42 22:26, 14 February 2010 (EST)
- Just put your username then a / before what you want to call the page, like if you wanted to create one for your favourite powers, you'd do User:Boycool42/Favourite powers. Any more quesions, just ask. --mc_hammark 09:08, 15 February 2010 (EST)
Strikethrough
I've noticed you putting codes for strikethroughs on pages, but you've not correctly closed them. You've been putting <s>text<s/>, where as it should be <s>text</s>. The slash should be before the second s. Thanks. --mc_hammark 18:16, 20 February 2010 (EST)
- Does it matter the way I put it? Does it change anything?--Boycool42 18:18, 20 February 2010 (EST)
- Yes. If you don't close it properly it puts a strikethrough through everything that follows, even the bars down the very bottom of the page. --mc_hammark 18:19, 20 February 2010 (EST)
- Oh, thanks. --Boycool42 18:21, 20 February 2010 (EST)
- Yes. If you don't close it properly it puts a strikethrough through everything that follows, even the bars down the very bottom of the page. --mc_hammark 18:19, 20 February 2010 (EST)
About Sylar...
- I was reading your "dream ending" to heroes on Sylar's discussion page, and I was just wondering out of curiosity if you ment disintegration like disintegration? If it is, that would be freakishly cool and incredibly disgusting like Tracy's victims. Oh well just a thought, but great idea! ;) --Dance4thedead 20:37, 24 February 2010 (EST)
- Yeah, that's what I meant. It would be really gorey and who would expect it?--Boycool42 07:13, 25 February 2010 (EST)
Copying
Hi Boycool, When I was looking on you're userpage, I saw that you copied a lot of things from my userpage. I dont really care that much but I would appericaite it if you could atleast change the text a little at favorite Heroes moments. And btw, next time if you want to copy something, could you ask me? Thanks :)-- Yoshi | Talk | Contributions 18:30, 2 March 2010 (EST)
- Uh...sorry. I'll work on that.--Boycool42 07:19, 3 March 2010 (EST)
RE:Fancy signatures
There are a couple of different ways. For instance, if you just want to add a few things in addition to your user name and timestamp, like say, your talk page or contributions, you'd create a new page (something like User:Boycool42/sig) and type the code in for what you want to show up. For instance, if you wanted a signature that says Boycool42 Talk to me, you'd put [[User:Boycool42|Boycool42]] [[User talk:Boycool42|Talk to me]] onto the page User:Boycool42/sig. Then, you'd go to your preferences and in the nickname field you'd put {{subst:User:Boycool42/sig}}, and any time you added your signature with the four tildes or sig button, that's what would show up.
There are a few more complicated things you can do. My signature, for instance, is italized and bolded and in a different color. You can bold and italize your signature the same you'd do it for any piece of text, just add '''(text)''' or ''(text)'' . If you want an example on how to color your signature, check out the coding for mine here. However, if the coding for your signature becomes to long, it will clutter up talk pages. You'd need to create another page, like User:Boycool42/awesomesig, and then on the original signature page, User:Boycool/sig, you'd put {{User:Boycool42/awesome sig}}. That way, your signature would only be a few characters rather then displaying the entire code.
There are a few crazy complicated things you can do for your signature (like Altes's signature, for instance) but I'm not quite sure how to make them that intricate. If you need any more help, or any explanation on what I just wrote, feel free to leave a message on my talk page. You might also want to check out Help:Signatures.
