Claire and her birth mother are incorrectly presumed dead after a fire in an apartment building.

The Fix
The Haitian tells Claire that her birth mother died in a fire fourteen years ago. Zach and Claire go to a diner to research the event. While looking through the Odessa Register archives, they happen upon an article about the fire. The fire reportedly killed 7 people in a Kermit apartment building, including Meredith Gordon and her eighteen-month-old daughter.
