Ending

Boy, that was an unsatisfying ending. Has that woman never washed her own face? Golly. And maybe I'm the only one who watches the episodes, but that's not quite how (or when) Bennet and Claude meet. Sheesh. For a novel series with such a strong beginning, it sure stunk in the end. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 09:47, 14 August 2007 (EDT)

• Yeah, what a letdown to not know anything more about the water vamp either. What was up with Haram after Claude hit her with the stick? Did he have some reversing power that turned her dehydrate back on herself?     • Anyone else think that this novel shows only what is in the report, and not what really happened? Claude seems to hint at that at the end, when he tells Haram 'I can fix all this in the report, fudge the facts a little.'. Also, when they can't get Haram on the phone cause he 'retired', I'm wondering exactly what they mean by that...--MiamiVolts (talk) 11:36, 14 August 2007 (EDT)
      • I assumed they meant dead, but it's just an assumption. I don't remember if they've recruited The Haitian at this point in which case they may have just erased his memory. Or perhaps they kidnapped him and put him on an island somewhere. (Admin 12:24, 14 August 2007 (EDT))
        • I don't know what to make of it, but the Haitian wasn't recruited by Thompson until around the time Mr. Bennet shot Claude on the bridge--so the memory erase option didn't exist yet. Heh, nice of you to reference the Prisoner. It could be an option, I guess, but it's less likely...--MiamiVolts (talk) 12:31, 14 August 2007 (EDT)

Timeline inconsistency

According to Company Man, Claude and Noah meet in 1991 for the first time. According to Golden Handshake, Part 4, they already know each other in 1990, Claude is Noah's trainer, and they are made partners. However, episodes trump GNs, so we should not include that little coda of this story where it would contradict a canon source. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 10:34, 14 August 2007 (EDT)

• For all we know, the events in the Primatech in this GN took place in 1991. In Company Man, Thompson (1990) says that Claude 'will' be Bennet's partner, so it's reasonable to assume this part of the story happened after that when Bennet is supposed to be still a trainee. This could be Claude returning to Primatech a second time to deliver his final report (the first or a previous time he returned is when he met Bennet).--MiamiVolts (talk) 11:57, 14 August 2007 (EDT)
  • It was 1991 when Thompson said that Claude will be Noah's new partner. In this graphic novel, it Claude is shocked that Haram didn't take the six months to retire. Granted, it could have taken some time to file the report, but I don't think it took six months. Plus, it's typical to put the time change in the corner of a panel if a significant amount of time has passed. I think it's just a mistake. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:12, 14 August 2007 (EDT)
    • Imho, we can't "assume" an error without confirmation. So we have to go with the facts in evidence--that the mistake is either that the artist forgot to put in the time delay, or else thought the dialogue was clear enough to indicate it. Maybe the script coordinator or the artist can settle this debate for us? We really don't know how long it takes Claude to file reports (he's a busy guy)--it could be that three months have gone by and it is now 1991. --MiamiVolts (talk) 13:36, 14 August 2007 (EDT)
