Since there is quite a while until the episodes return the novel writers come up with unrelated story lines. Linda began working long before the Company was formed. + Pinehearst could have been the predecessor to the Company. The writers have referred to Primatech as the Company 2.0. - Linda Tavara could have been working for Yamagato Industries.

Also look at Jackie Wilcox and Gabriel Cruz, Sylar thought they had powers when they did not.

She absorbed Ida's Aura.	+ He was a target and thus had abilities. - Just because Linda targeted people with abilities doesn't mean she only attacked people with abilities. She killed her informant, who was never hinted to have an ability. + This could explain how she survived Linderman's attack. - Linderman killed Linda. - Welkes' ability was never revealed.

A statement made by her former employer Ferguson.	+ This could explain how she could have survived Linderman's attack. + She brought in a girl called Pamela and a Mechanic. - Bringing them in means she didn't kill them, meaning that if they had abilities, she didn't take them. + Ferguson said many of the people she tracked ended up missing or dead. + This could explain why Linda's informant stated that many of her target when missing. + Linda used her power on the informant, heavily implying she had an ability. - Linda attacked her informant cause she was about to fire her, making it harder for her to find people with abilities. Just because Linda can take abilities by killing, it doesn't mean she kills only people with abilities.
