Mira Shenoy is the lover of Mohinder Suresh who works as a genetic researcher in Madras, India.
Character History
Seven Minutes to Midnight
At Chandra's funeral, Nirand points out Mira to Mohinder and suggests that there is perhaps more than just a job waiting for him. Later, she arrives at Chandra's office looking for him. She apologizes for arguing with him about his father's research. She tells him that she's been promoted to the head of genetic research at her company and offers him a job—provided he agrees to forget all about his father's theories. Mohinder tells her he'll think about it.
Homecoming
Mohinder's mother mentions that Mira told her that Mohinder rejected her job offer and will be returning to New York.
Brother's Keeper
Nine weeks ago, Mohinder teaches a student about tectonic plates. When Mohinder is done, Mira states that Mohinder's students adore him, and that he was born to teach. While Mohinder is talking, Mira is searching for something and then finds a box with Chandra's old work in it. Mira argues that he promised to throw it away. Mohinder tells her that it's his father's lifework and that it's hard for him to throw it away. Mira states that they have a good life in India, and that when he works on his father's research he just vanishes. Mohinder says that she is right and puts the box with all of Chandra's work in the garbage can.
The next morning, Mira finds Mohinder asleep, in the middle of his father's research. Mira wakes him up and he tells her that he has made a remarkable discovery. Mira is upset with him for not throwing it away though Mohinder tries to argue. Mira tells Mohinder that he is obsessed. She pleads for him to think about what he has, and what he has to lose. Mira tells him that if he leaves to continue his father's work, she won't wait for him to return.
After Mohinder leaves the carnival and goes to his motel room, Mohinder leaves Mira a voice mail, saying she was right and telling her that he'll be on the first flight back to India.
Graphic Novel:Second Chances
Mira is not home when Mohinder returns, so he gets Molly Walker to locate her. Molly sees Mira being dragged by a man in her office. The man scolds Mira for distracting Mohinder from his research and wonders if any of the research has been seen by her. When Mohinder knocks the man out, Mira says that she missed Mohinder and the two kiss.
