Review

I was quite surprised to learn that Sylar was let out of his cell to go on missions by himself... The novel was still good, but I think the writer could have developed a better explanation. That part of the novel seems forced to me. Otherwise, the writing was good. The artistry was very good, but it was not Alitha's best work, imho.--MiamiVolts (talk) 15:02, 4 November 2008 (EST)

I loved it :) The best novel since the start of Season 3 in my opinion. I was under the impression that Sylar wasn't exactly send on a mission, but rather that he choose to go there to prove himself as an agent or to just get away from his new co-workers. ("I'm breaking protocol being here. On a mission. Alone. But I had to get out of there. Clear my head.", p.3) He didn't really seem to be a prisoner in the last episodes anyhow.
I'm still make up my mind about Martinez' art... I did recognize her work this time though :) --Pierre 15:21, 4 November 2008 (EST)

AT

New AT code. BWygq63a. Knox? --Pierre 06:32, 4 November 2008 (EST)

  • Yes, likely. Radicell 06:34, 4 November 2008 (EST)

Tina an escapee?

Sylar claims that there are 2 level 5 escapees in the house. As confirmed in an issue of CBR, men and women are locked up in different levels. As only the males from the male Level 5 escaped, it seems that Tina is not an escapee after all. Chrisyu357 06:53, 4 November 2008 (EST)

Besides the fact that Tina is assumed to be an escapee in this GN, there has already been a female ecapee shown in the series. When Sandra and Meredith looks through the files of the escapees in ep. 3x05, see Talk:Level_5_escapees#Unnamed_escapees_in_Ep_3.05. Once again we can be glad that interviews isn't canon - obviously this has changed since the CBR you are referring to. :) --Pierre 07:13, 4 November 2008 (EST)
There's nothing that says that the woman's picture in Bennet's files was of an escaped convict from Level 5. Yes, they all were, so there are pretty good odds, but it's certainly not to be assumed. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 11:12, 4 November 2008 (EST)
Based on Meredith's and Sandra's discussion, I'd safe its safe to assure that the files does indeed include only Level 5 escapees. But that's not really the point - Tina is just as likely to be an escapee as Michael :) --Pierre 15:11, 4 November 2008 (EST)

Dennis's ability?

Possibly a power that causes purple blots and kills people? --Ciwey 07:27, 4 November 2008 (EST)

  • Yes, I saw it too. There's no mention of his ability, but it implies that the agents were killed by purple blots. But I wouldn't call it "confirmed". Radicell 07:30, 4 November 2008 (EST)
    • Yeah, I think it's worthy of a note on Dennis's page, but it shouldn't be developed into an ability page since it isn't confirmed.--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:54, 4 November 2008 (EST)
      • Agree - although "Purple killing blots summoning" does have a cool sound to it ;) --Pierre 15:13, 4 November 2008 (EST)

Sound Manipulation?

The article claims that the power Sylar used on the first escapee was sound manipulation, but you can very clearly see the man's charred skeleton in the next panel. I figured this meant he actually used Ted's power. Where did sound manipulation come from? Discar 11:51, 4 November 2008

  • There's text in front of Sylar's flash that shows that it's supposed to be a yell effect from sound manipulation.--MiamiVolts (talk) 14:56, 4 November 2008 (EST)
    • I can't really see how Dennis could have died from sound, when Michael and Tina don't seem to have been hurt at all of Sylar's screaming, and his burning remainings clearly wasn't a result of any sound effects :) The actual power that killed Dennis remains unknown, although Induced radioactivity, or maybe melting, seems logical. It's basically just speculation, though, and we (nor the article) can't really say what actually killed him. --Pierre 15:05, 4 November 2008 (EST)
    • Re-reading the passage in the GN I don't think Sylar used Sound Manipulation at all - the ORRRO and OORRAARR is rather either Dennis, Michael or Tina screaming in pain/fear, or the sound Dennis' body makes when turning into flames. --Pierre 15:09, 4 November 2008 (EST)
