Page Adding Checklist
So I was thinking of somehow doing a checklist of things that need to be done when a new article is added. For instance, when somebody adds a location, they should update Portal:Locations and Template:Location. When somebody adds a Graphic Novel Character, they should update Portal:Graphic Novel Characters and Template:GNcharacternav ... You get my point. Any thoughts on where such a checklist might go? I was thinking one of the help pages, unless you had a better idea. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 08:51, 1 January 2007 (EST)
- Sounds about right. Help:Editing has a (small) section about adding new articles that could be linked out to something like Help:New article checklist. There's already a smidge of info on adding a new episode which could be moved into the new article.--Hardvice (talk) 11:26, 1 January 2007 (EST)
Integrating Story Arcs
- I had some ideas on how we can integrate some information about the story arcs. One thing is that Season One is getting a bit unwieldy. Maybe we can break it into individual articles for the arcs (like [Season One:Are You on the List? or something) and summarize the arcs on the main Season One page. We can also use the arcs to break Portal:Episodes into subpages, which we'll have to do sometime soon.--Hardvice (talk) 19:18, 2 January 2007 (EST)
- I love it! I've been wanting to do that since I first read about Heroes, even before I ever caught an episode. (Yes, I'm a latecomer to the show - I've actually still never seen Genesis all the way through.) I especially like the idea for the portal page - makes the most amount of sense there. As for the Season One page, I kind of like that it's a list of all the episodes, albeit a bit long (and growing). Splitting the eps is a bit of dangerous ground - it's not really canonical, and there's no guarantee that eps will continue in arcs as such ... But I say let's go for it - we'll cross problematic bridges as we come to them. I'm not opposed to changing the layout of Season One - just not sure it's the best place for it. Let's try it an see... - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:29, 2 January 2007 (EST)
References Split
Speaking of splitting portals, I was thinking the Portal:References might need to be split soon. Maybe a simple subcat like "Movies" or "Comics" or something. Too soon? - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:29, 2 January 2007 (EST)
AOTW Template
Nice job! That should also make things easier if we ever have to protect the main page.--Hardvice (talk) 15:26, 3 January 2007 (EST)
- Thanks. I just wish there was some more information we could throw in there. ----

- Just want to say Thanks for The advise and Help on this N00b. How do I align my Sig to the Right?~ ~ ~ ~ Red = 12:30, 14 May 2026
- If you want to have it automatically align it, just add the colons to the text you typed in Special:Preferences. But it would be better to put a <br> before them and put the tildes immediately after your comment, and not on the next line ... that way, you still get a line break but it doesn't break the formatting for other people's comments.
In other words, to get the signature you're using now, change the nickname field to "<br>:::: ~ ~ ~ ~ [[User:Red|Red]] = ". Then, instead of putting it on a new line, put it right after your comment, like this: "comment~~~~" It will auto-insert the line break

Sources
- Help:Sources Doesn't Tell me How to use History tab only Talks about type of Sources. ~ ~ ~ Red = ~~~~~
- I was linking to Help:Sources to explain why some things like Niki's power, etc., don't get added to articles. As for the Diff/Hist rollback, it's an admin-only feature. You're better off just recreating the edit. You can click a version in History, click edit, and click save, but it will undo all subsequent changes. Again, it's better just to redo the edit manually.--Hardvice (talk) 23:48, 4 January 2007 (EST)
Comic Book Guru Needed!
I understand you have a greater depth of knowledge about comic books than I do. Am I right that the image of D.L. outside the jail is referencing a comic book hero? I feel like there's a picture of Spider-man or Superman or Batman sitting in a similar fashion on a gargoyle, or on top of a building. I'd like to add it to references, but I'm not sure if it goes on Marvel Comics or DC Comics. Help! - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:48, 6 January 2007 (EST)
- You see similar images in both Spiderman and Batman. --Ted C 11:40, 9 January 2007 (EST)
Delete pages
How do I nominate pages for deletion? On that other site, all you have to do is add a [[template:delete]]. ---- ![]()

- I've been tossing mine in the Category:Articles for Deletion up till now, with the hope that someone with Admin rights can take a look at it. --Orne 11:04, 9 January 2007 (EST)
- That's the right spot. You can also just talk about it on the discussion page. Another good spot is on Heroes Wiki:Administrator Portal. - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 13:33, 9 January 2007 (EST)
Family Trees
- Okay, I got an image-map one set up at Petrelli (disambig). Lemme know what you think. If the consensus is positive, I'll get cracking on the others.--Hardvice (talk) 14:05, 9 January 2007 (EST)
- It looks fantastic! My two concerns (and I don't think there's much we can do about either):
- This looks fantastic for a full family like the Petrellis. When it comes to the Deveauxs, it'll just be a straight line from Charles to Simone. But again, not much we can do about that.
- This is really minor and nit-picky. Is there anyway to make only the pictures linked, and have the rest of the tree part unlinked? If not, not a big deal.
- Hmmm. It's just an image, so it's linked just like every other image -- to the image page. There's one trick I can try to pull off ... lemme see if it'll work.--Hardvice (talk) 15:50, 9 January 2007 (EST)
- Yup. Worked fine.--Hardvice (talk) 16:08, 9 January 2007 (EST)
- I know that was a minor detail, but it I'm impressed - what did you do? - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:51, 9 January 2007 (EST)
- I split it into three layers: the background image, a transparent layer with invisible text which covers up the background layer so the link doesn't work, and the images.--Hardvice (talk) 18:17, 9 January 2007 (EST)

Principal Characters Image Map
Were you going to make an image map out of Image:Principal Characters.JPG? I think it would look really awesome in Category:Principal Cast, sort of like Template:heromap is on Category:Characters, but the portals remain as they are. (Does that make any sense?) I'm willing to try my hand at making the image map (I feel so liberated now!), but I'd want to spend some time on it - probably not until MLK day. (If we're going to do an image map, is there a larger version of the pic of which you're aware?) - RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:19, 10 January 2007 (EST)
