The Fix

The Haitian tells Claire that her birth mother died in a fire fourteen years ago. Zach and Claire go to a diner to research the event. While looking through the Odessa Register archives, they happen upon an article about the fire. The fire reportedly killed 7 people in a Kermit apartment building, including Meredith Gordon and her eighteen-month-old daughter.

Distractions

At Meredith Gordon's home, Claire and her newfound mother incredulously discuss the fire that seemingly separated them. Claire offers that she was able to survive the fire, perhaps, through her unique ability to heal herself.

Notes

• According to the Odessa Register article, the fire took place at night, probably around 2 a.m. It destroyed several apartments.
• The cause of the fire is unknown. It should be noted that Meredith Gordon has the power to start fires.
• The details surrounding Claire's survival of the fire are unknown. It should be noted that Claire is able to heal herself from injuries, though her first known manifestation of this ability was in April 2006.
