Linda has a power, and was a private investigator. - Linda is dead. + Why would they give Linda a backstory if she wasn't going to appear in future episodes? - Episodes and novels are not inter-connected for the most part. Since there is quite a while until the episodes return the novel writers come up with unrelated story lines. This is what happened with the season 1-2 break. - Even if Linda survived, she would be a little bit old to be Adam's newest wife. + Adam is 400 years old. He's been with dozens of women young and old. + During those 40-odd years, she could have gained a power that slowed her aging.

Linda began working long before the Company was formed. + Pinehearst could have been the predecessor to the Company. The writers have referred to Primatech as the Company 2.0. - Linda Tavara could have been working for Yamagato Industries.

Also look at Jackie Wilcox and Gabriel Cruz, Sylar thought they had powers when they did not.
