On September 20, 2011, the wheelchair-bound Jacob Kurtzberg wheels himself out of the elevator and towards his hotel room. When he opens the door to his room with a keycard, Edgar speeds past him and appears in the middle of the room. When Edgar asks Kurtzberg if he is trying to free Samuel from prison, Kurtzberg replies that he is. Edgar speeds forward and slashes Kurtzberg's throat with his knives, causing Kurtzberg to fall onto and bleed over the carpet. The last words Kurtzberg hears are "Samuel's stayin' in his hole for's long as possible. Forever'd be best".
