The links from the episode said his name was "Derek", so I used that when I started the page (thanks for the cleanup btw). Was that what he was credited as in the episode? I don't recall his name being mentioned in the dialogue at any point... Aapold 15:53, 9 October 2007 (EDT)

  • IMDB and a few spoilers have his name listed as Derek.--Bob 16:13, 9 October 2007 (EDT)
  • He was not credited by name in the episode--only minor appearances in the end credits list a role, actors credited in the opening credits do not. But he has been named "Derek" in several secondary sources.--Hardvice (talk) 16:28, 9 October 2007 (EDT)

"It is implied in The Kindness of Strangers that Derek has a power. Sylar "hears" his trademark ticking from Derek and kills him by striking him in the back of the head."

I don't think this implies that Derek had a power in the slightest. I think it implies that Sylar was working out a plan to get Maya and Alejandro to himself, and to keep Derek from calling the cops.--Hardvice (talk) 01:04, 16 October 2007 (EDT)

  • Step ahead of you. :) It's already gone. I agree, it doesn't imply Derek had a power. (Admin 01:05, 16 October 2007 (EDT))
    • So, does the "ticking" imply that Sylar still has his intuitive power?--Tim Thomason 01:10, 16 October 2007 (EDT)
      • Personally, I wouldn't draw any conclusions off of it since in the past they've seemed to use that power frequently as background sound for Sylar for its creepiness factor. (Admin 01:12, 16 October 2007 (EDT))

Nissan Rogue Graphic Novel

  • What the heck do we do with this one? Since it requires a sign-up to download, I'm not sure how keen NBC would be to have us document it in any real detail. But it is part of the story and part of the continuity. For now, I've added it to the Notes.--Hardvice (talk) 05:07, 16 October 2007 (EDT)
    • Definitely a rogue graphic novel. Heh. Well, I'm torn. On the one hand, I want to respect NBC and their marketing strategies. On the other hand, this story is part of Heroes and begs to be chronicled. (Burger Bonanza? The Rogue?) ... At the risk of sounding like somebody who bites the hand who feeds him, I lean towards full inclusion of the graphic novel. I mean, there are plenty of Heroes 360 aspects which require downloading, signing up, and giving away personal information in order to view the content, and we have it chronicled here. Even if somebody had put the entire graphic novel on the site (which we of course wouldn't do), I would have still signed up to view the novel myself (more so, even), but that's just me. It's a tough call, but my vote is to go ahead with it. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 05:39, 16 October 2007 (EDT)
      • I tend to agree. It should probably have its own GN page, appear in Derek, the Rogue, and Claire's histories, etc. We should probably limit ourselves to the absolutely essential screencaps (one for the episode, the credits, and any characters we decide to add (just Rick, Carole, and the frat leader, I'd guess), and obviously we shouldn't link directly to the file, but otherwise I'd say we're fine.--Hardvice (talk) 05:45, 16 October 2007 (EDT)
        • Yeah, I think that's fine. Definitely keep it somewhat limited, as much as possible. I won't have time to work on it this morning, I gotta run right now....I'd also include something on Burger Bonanza. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 05:53, 16 October 2007 (EDT)

Holy crap!

Was that Derek in the Volume 3 preview on YouTube!? --Hero!(talk)(contribs) 22:45, 19 December 2007 (EST)

  • Yes. Probably a vision, as is my best guess. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 22:51, 19 December 2007 (EST)
  • It's probably Sylar's illusion thing... or Derek is Kane? Chrisyudbsname.JPGChrisyudbstalk.JPG 01:50, 20 December 2007 (EST)
  • The fact that Syler killed Derek is speculative. Perhaps we should change this page? -- LightSpectra 20:09, 31 December 2007 (EST)
    • Spoilers do not play a part in what we put on non-spoiler pages like this one. Until we see otherwise, we go with what we've seen in episodes, which is that Sylar killed Derek. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:10, 1 January 2008 (EST)
