Talk:Jason Badower

From Heroes Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

For anybody interested, Jason Badower will be doing another graphic novel after the hiatus. I'm also excited about the attention to detail Jason brings to the comics. Incidentally, during the next four weeks, there will be a four part series that will focus on one character, much like Wireless. (I'm thinking Candace?) ... — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:47, 8 March 2007 (EST)

  • ...Well, so I was wrong about Candace ... oh well ... but Jason Badower just posted that the artist who was going to do the last two parts of War Buddies "had just pulled out and [Frank (the Heroes editor at Aspen)] desperately needed an artist to step in for the last two parts of the Vietnam flashback story...So, I get to find out who Dallas and Austin are." Very cool. Can't wait. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:26, 22 March 2007 (EDT)
    • More: "I know who Dallas and Austin are. My only clue is that I'm going to try and allude to who they are with some closer likenesses than are currently being drawn. That's not to say that either of them are anyone you know or have seen. Confused? =) Let's just say that I'm reeling from the implications." — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:34, 23 March 2007 (EDT)
      • Can't wait for the 1th May, the GN is about to be soooooooo cool! He really is the best :) -- FrenchFlo (talk)        05:45, 27 April 2007 (EDT)
        • I am seriously looking forward to the GN about almost much as the episode (whish I'm looking forward to a LOT). I'm not sure how I feel about that.--Leshia 06:05, 27 April 2007 (EDT)
          • I agree--Jason has such a way of really pumping people up for the comics. (Plus there's a little shout-out to me in his next one, so I'm extra excited.) :) — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 07:57, 27 April 2007 (EDT)

Calling all ladies in the joint

Jason Badower needs a woman's touch. He wants to dress Hana in an outfit for a jumpin' club scene. Post your fashion sense here and you just might be the lucky one to play dress-up Barbie in his upcoming graphic novel. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:35, 20 April 2007 (EDT)

Galleries

Ryan's right that the gallery is growing fast, so I suggest making subpages for the gallery and just put links to the subpages here and on the article pages for each graphic novel.--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:24, 16 May 2007 (EDT)

  • It's not a bad idea. Right now the gallery is no longer than some of our others (see Symbol, 9th Wonders!, Isaac's paintings, and Linderman's archives), but this is the one that will definitely grow, and fast. Are subpages the best way to go for this? — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:30, 16 May 2007 (EDT)
    • Do you have a better idea? Eventually we'll have to limit the article, and I see the two options as subdivide the gallery by the source (graphic novels, episode artifacts, etc), or just alphabetically... and I see alpha-sort as probably being harder to manage.--MiamiVolts (talk) 00:57, 16 May 2007 (EDT)
      • Sure, a few other ideas, but I don't know if they're better. For instance, the gallery for each GN could be moved to a GN page. This wouldn't be a bad idea, and the art would fit fine on the GN page, but something about it just makes me feel like the art and comments belong on the artist's page. Another option: we could do a major overhaul of crew pages and make pages just for Season One crew, and another for Season Two. This seems silly to me. We could trim the galleries to just have the "most important" info. This becomes subjective, opens us up to edit wars, and frankly, just loses a lot of really great info. The best bet seems to have a link to an art commentary page for each GN Jason has done. (Something like "Jason Badower/Roadkill" or "Roadkill art commentary" would work.) Each page would have a gallery of at least 8 pictures with lots of commentary, so it's not like any page would be "empty". — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:12, 16 May 2007 (EDT)
        • Yeah, I called the latter option (an art commentary subpage like "Jason Badower/Roadkill" for each GN) the "source" sorting option. I like that one best, too. To have more than one version of a crew page sounds like it would be really confusing (it's confusing enough to deal with the alternate timelines).--MiamiVolts (talk) 01:28, 16 May 2007 (EDT)
          • Yeah, I agree with Ryan and Volty. We could move most of the images to either a separate article or a subpage and call it "Jason Badower art commentary" or something. --Heroe!(talk) (contribs) 17:57, 24 May 2007 (EDT)
            • "Volty". Cute. Yeah, I've got a few ideas. Let me update the galleries with some of his commentaries, and then we can take care of any splits etc. — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:16, 27 May 2007 (EDT)

Ahhhhh!! I'm from Melbourne aswell, cool!

Prediction Contest

The ever public-savvy Jason is holding another contest. Three contests, actually. Winners get to pick a character and scene he will draw and give out for (almost) free at the San Diego Comic Con. Just get the correct details of any of these three questions.

Have fun guessing, y'all! — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 17:18, 18 May 2007 (EDT)

  • Thanks for the heads up! I've posted some of my theories there... hope you like them.--MiamiVolts (talk) 20:21, 18 May 2007 (EDT)
    • Definitely enjoyed your RGS theory. Hooking up with Casey again, that's clever. Kind gives the term "exploding man" a whole new meaning, don't it? — RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 20:49, 18 May 2007 (EDT)
      • LOL, it sure would... they could be fighting outside when RGS goes boom.--MiamiVolts (talk) 21:23, 18 May 2007 (EDT)
  • Heh, heh...try to find mine! :D Heroe!(talk) (contribs) 20:25, 18 May 2007 (EDT)
    • I don't see yours, unless you're using a different alias, in which case I'd have no clue.--MiamiVolts (talk) 20:45, 18 May 2007 (EDT)
      • Yes, I'm using a different alias. It begins with "I". Heroe!(talk) (contribs) 20:59, 18 May 2007 (EDT)
        • Ikin? I was hoping that comment wasn't yours. LOL. :P--MiamiVolts (talk) 21:23, 18 May 2007 (EDT)
          • Heh. It was a joke. Once I come up with a real way she could die, I'll post again. Heroe!(talk) (contribs) 21:25, 18 May 2007 (EDT)

Monday

I'm meeting Jason Badower on Monday 7/23 in NYC. Any questions y'all want me to ask him? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:09, 21 July 2007 (EDT)

  • I guess you can ask him how difficult it is for his particular style (very realistic and detail-oriented) to depict these amazing abilities like EDT, induced radioactivity or cryokinesis. --Bob 19:53, 21 July 2007 (EDT)
    • Just had lunch with Jason and some of his buddies--rockin' good time. He gave me some stuff he's handing out at the comic con (images of Peter, Claire, Mr. B., and a cool one of Sylar), as well as a poster-size print of the last page of The Death of Hana Gitelman, Part 2. I'm sure he'll upload them soon, so I'll wait for the better version he'll post. As soon as I sync up my camera, I'll post some pics, too....Sorry, Bob, we got talking about so many other things, I never got to ask him your question. Oh well! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:48, 23 July 2007 (EDT)
