Enhanced Durability

In my opinion this ability is very much similar to that of Robert Keep's in the deleted scenes of Season 2. Even though we didn't see Michael demonstrate his ability shouldn't there be a page on it nonetheless? Or even a proper name suited for Michael's ability? Becuase it cannot simply be "Enhanced Strength" along if he has another ability.--ACDC1989 08:03, 4 November 2008 (EST)

  • Yes, but what about Knox's case? His ability should really be Enhanced strength through fear absorption or something like that. But that's not too good an ability name, and it goes against the naming conventions. As with this case, the naming conventions would name Michael's ability Enhanced strength and durability. But would we really have that alongside Niki's Enhanced strength? It'd look quite awkward. Durability means ability to endure, and is quite vague, since Sylar just said it once. Personally, I'd stick to just Enhanced strength for now. Radicell 09:14, 4 November 2008 (EST)
    • Also, durability could easily be a side effect of having enhanced strength. What good is being able to lift a truck if your bones all break doing it? Niki/Jessica had the same thing, IMO. Knox is a different story, but seeing as how it appears we get his assignment tracker soon, I'm cool with waiting to see what the "official" word is. GabrielPetrelli 09:42, 4 November 2008 (EST)
  • Thats a rather unfair observation, isn't it? If all those who have enhanced strength had that profound durability then Niki wouldn't have died then. I agree that those who have super strength have slighly durable and hardened skin hence why Knox is able to punch through the German and the steel door without injury but i wouldn't go as far as enchaned. --ACDC1989 07:11, 5 November 2008 (EST)
    • Niki lost her enhanced strength (and inherent durability increase) to the Shanti Virus. Her death still makes sense. GabrielPetrelli 09:17, 5 November 2008 (EST)
  • GabrielPetrelli can you please answer me this? Knox, in the exposed future, states to Future Claire "Unlike you Daphne and I can die." Knox has his ability but yet states that he can die thus confirms that he does not have enchaned durability which too could be expanded to other super strength wielders, apart from Fitzgerald. Also Sylar was punching Knox at the end before going Radioactive. If Knox has enchanced durability he would not have been hurt as he was also he wouldn't have died from Sylar's radioactive attack. And you can take that to the bank.--ACDC1989 13:08, 5 November 2008 (EST)
    • Enhanced durability does not imply invincibility. It just means more durable than an average human. I'd use the term "increased durability" instead, actually. Also, Knox's Enhanced strength has a condition to be met in order to use it, unlike Niki. Also, we know even Claire can die if decapitated. Some characters exaggerate a little. GabrielPetrelli 13:47, 5 November 2008 (EST)
      • This is a lot like Super speed. There was an Q&A (with writers or producers, i forget) where they said that Daphne had some kind of inherent increased durability/senses to be able to withstand the skeletal/muscular stress incurred by running so fast. Not enough of an increase to be called another ability, but just a side-effect. GabrielPetrelli 13:54, 5 November 2008 (EST)
  • Gabriel, Daphne being able to withstand certain aspects of her ability is not a side-effect more like a part of her DNA. You can't just call that a side effect. We have not seen any person on Heroes who is able to have two or more abilities naturally but that doesn't mean there is none. Michael could be one of the first. Sylar, Peter, Arthur, Haitian and Linda do not count. --ACDC1989 08:27, 6 November 2008 (EST)
    • I know it could be possible for a multi-ability person (not including power absorption/mimicry/theft/etc). But we've had a few Heroes already, like Niki and Daphne, who have similar signs of heightened durability (or strength really, in Daphne's case) when using their powers. Since they don't have this noted in their "official" ability names, I would say it's best to treat Michael the same way. At least, until they release detailed info later, if they choose to do so.
We may learn more soon, about Daphne at least. See this | CBR:
Jake Chandler has two questions for you this week:
"I've been waiting for someone with super speed ever since this show began, so thank you for Daphne. Now, does she have the same powers as The Flash? Like being able to vibrate through walls or handcuffs, strength (not like Nikki's but still stronger than the average human), healing (not like Claire's but better than the average human)?"

You will get to know a lot more about Daphne's powers as the season progresses, including strength and healing. We had a big argument about strength in the Writers Room. I brought up the mass = force times acceleration argument, but some people just don't believe in physics. More on Daphne will be revealed in Episodes 310 and 311, simply titled "The Eclipse!"" GabrielPetrelli 10:08, 6 November 2008 (EST)
  • Yes it is obvious that an object travelling at such fast speeds, if colliding with another object, will cause great pressure similar to that of the Flash. But her having accelerated healing would be kind of stupid. --ACDC1989 11:21, 6 November 2008 (EST)
  • The majority of Evolved Humans are immune to any negative effects of their own ability, meaning that a man/woman can't be hurt by the use of their own power as different aspect, punshing through a wall would not hurt some one with enhanced strentgh. However, he or she could be atacked by an external force, hurting them.--Halfbreed1426 (Halfbreed1426) 06:45, 22 December 2008 (EST)

Glowing tats and eyes

Did anyone else notice how his tattoo things only glowed when he used his ability? Psilaq Remake 17:04, 4 November 2008 (EST)

  • Correction, His eyes glow when he uses his ability. his tats glow for most of the GN Psilaq Remake 17:09, 4 November 2008 (EST)
    • I noticed too, very strange indeed! Why have the tattoos glow? --SacValleyDweller (talk) 23:11, 4 November 2008 (EST)
  • Perhaps his strength is produced by an energy that body generagtes and since tattos have metals in them become partly charged making them glow, the source of any power is in the brain, so his optic neveres tansfere an amount of the energy from it making his eyes glow. I honstly think that his strenght is drawn from the energy he produces, Knox's is almost psychically drawn from a person ambient emotions inorder to use his power, and with Niki, her version of it caused the jeklly and hyde effect to her mind, the only one with no catch to his strength was Scott. Michael ?

UnknownEscapee.JPG

I was looking at the pictures of the unidentified Level 5 prisoners and noticed a similarity, let me know what you think. Looks similar enough, could this be Mr. Fitzgerald? D Toccs 16:40, 21 December 2008 (EST)

Well... Michael Fitzgerald kind of has hair... Sincerely, Thrashmeister [ U | T | C ] 16:42, 21 December 2008 (EST)
  • True, but he only has very short hair and using your reasoning I could say that Peter in season 3 was not the same Peter as season 1 because the hair is different. lol D Toccs 16:44, 21 December 2008 (EST)
    • Not really, since we know that Peter in season three is the same as Peter in season one, so that's not really debatable. We don't know who this guy is at all, so any doubt is reasonable doubt. Also, he doesn't have any tattoos on his neck. Sincerely, Thrashmeister [ U | T | C ] 16:49, 21 December 2008 (EST)
      • Sorry to intrude, but I just had to tell D Toccs that is argument is the most fail and pathetic thing I've read on this wiki.--Citizen 17:23, 21 December 2008 (EST)
      • Mate that was not meant to be a serious comment. I was simply pointing out that you can't say the pic isn't Michael simply because "Michael Fitzgerald has hair and the pic doesn't" You obviously missed that I was being sarcastic to get my point across --D Toccs 01:49, 22 December 2008 (EST)
        • I really hope that this is not him, cause the art work photo of him looks like Zachery Ty Bryan from Tokyo Drift, plus this guy dosen't have the tattos.
        • Likewise, you missed the fact that any doubt is reasonable doubt. I can say that the guy in the picture isn't Michael because he doesn't have hair and Michael doesn't, because that's a pretty big difference. Sincerely, Thrashmeister [ U | T | C ] 22:44, 27 December 2008 (EST)
        • Well, Hichael's hair or lack there of is very simialar to Scott's, cause I gave the photos of enhanced strength a look and found that his hair cut looked very much like a marien's, making me think that this dude isn't really him. Ohh, his tattoos aren't glowing, even though they do even when he isnt using his power.
