Season 2

So, for season two (so we can get this ball moving), I'm thinking we start with the following:

  • Angela
  • Sandra
  • Molly
  • Kaito (unless he actually died)
  • Kensei
  • Ricky (based on spoilers)
  • Bob (based on spoilers)

That should start us off. --Bob 05:34, 27 September 2007 (EDT)

  • That's fine with me. I don't know how things will change, but it's a good start. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 21:56, 27 September 2007 (EDT)

Maya main, Alejandro Supporting???

Why are the twins split? So far they have been involved equally in all GNs and epis.... Shouldn't they be listed together? --HiroDynoSlayer (talk) 10/18/2007 18:00 (EST)

  • As with all main characters, Dania Ramirez is listed as "starring" in the credits. Shalim Ortiz is listed as "guest starring". Main characters is not an arbitrary category; it's based on who is a series regular and who isn't.--Hardvice (talk) 18:27, 18 October 2007 (EDT)
    • Right, it's definitely not about how often they appear...Otherwise, Lestat would get top billing over Tawny Cypress. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:42, 18 October 2007 (EDT)
    • From a BuddyTV interview with Shalim Ortiz: "Q: Dania Ramirez is credited as a series regular and you're credited as a guest star on the episodes. I'm wondering if there's a reason behind that. A: You know, the reason's very simple. The character Alejandro in the beginning, before he even started being part of the storyline, I think he was a character that was probably planned to come out in only one or two episodes; at least, that's what I heard. He was not going to be a character that was going to be so substantial to the story in the long run. But I guess his life has been extended because whatever is happening is being well received." -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 02:06, 20 October 2007 (EDT)

About Kaito

Since he was, afterall, in only one episode (thus far) this season, why is Kaito listed as supporting ? Candice is listed as minor, while she was supporting in s1. For consistency, shouldn't both be listed as either minor or supporting ? I understand Kaito will probably reappear this season, but if Candice did drag Sylar off Kirby Plaza, then we'll probably also see Michelle again ... --LeoChris 15:20, 19 October 2007 (EDT)

  • I think after the first episode, there were a lot of people (myself included) who believed Kaito either wasn't really dead, or that he'd be reappearing in flashbacks or something. Interviews seemed to make his role in the season very large. And, in truth, the role is large, but so are the roles of Hana and Mr. Petrelli--one of whom barely appeared, and the other hasn't even been cast, as far as I know. In short, you're right, Kaito should be moved to be a minor character. I'll wait until Monday to do it when I'm doing all the other portal updates. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 15:30, 19 October 2007 (EDT)
Kaito, Charlie and Candice were supporting in Season 1, why aren't they here? Therequiembellishere 16:12, 17 August 2008 (EDT)
Because they're supporting in season 1, not season 2. --DocM 18:09, 17 August 2008 (EDT)
Where do former main, supporting, recurring characters go? Therequiembellishere 00:00, 18 August 2008 (EDT)
This is a matter that deserves discussion - see Category_talk:Characters#Suggestion_for_categorization_of_characters. Pierre 07:42, 18 August 2008 (EDT)
Former main cast members go in Portal:Former Principal Cast. Since "main character" (or "principal cast" or however you want to word it) is the only distinction NBC makes for its actors and characters, that's the only one that matters. The other distinctions ("recurring", "supporting", "guest") are titles Heroes Wiki has applied to make sorting and categorizing easier. So, if Mike Foy never appears again, he will simply stay on the portal he's already in. If George Takei never appears again, he will also simply stay in the portal(s) he is in. However, if Kristen Bell never appears again (God forbid), then she would be moved to a special portal because she was given the distinction of being a principal cast member. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:03, 18 August 2008 (EDT)
Would it be alright if I created a "Portal:Former Supporting Characters" for Claude, Kaito, Charlie, Candice, Audrey, Ted and others? I don't have the know-how to make a "Portal:Former Recurring Characters" but if I go through them episode list, I can. The former cast portal is for the artists, not the characters, right? Therequiembellishere 22:55, 18 August 2008 (EDT)
You're right that the former principal cast portal is just for the real-life actors, not for the characters. I don't see the point in making a "former supporting characters" portal since it's a distinction we've created as fans to help navigate the portals a little better. Really, a "supporting character" has no difference than a "minor character" other than the amount people search for them. We figure people like Claude, Kaito, and Angela would get lost if they were just mixed in with the other characters who only made one or two appearances. I just don't see the point of propagating a fan-appointed designation beyond what is absolutely necessary for ease of navigation. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:26, 19 August 2008 (EDT)
Well, that's what I mean. I was looking for Claude when I came here. Therequiembellishere 00:35, 19 August 2008 (EDT)
Wouldn't it make sense to click the link at the bottom of the portal that says Season One Supporting Characters? Isn't that pretty much the same thing? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 00:49, 19 August 2008 (EDT)
Wow. I'm sorry, really should have seen that. :-( Therequiembellishere 00:58, 19 August 2008 (EDT)
No problem. But it brings up a good point--if the portal is supposed to help with navigation, and you had a hard time finding the link, perhaps the link should stand out a bit more to make it easier to spot... -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:16, 19 August 2008 (EDT)
