Theory talk:The Company's founders
Weird note
"This was also a group of people with superpowers so they couldn't just get any photographer to take the picture."
Whuzah? Huh? Why not, exactly? It's not like any of them is on fire or shooting lightning bolts out of their eyes. I think they probably could have hired a photographer and said something like "hi, we're a group of twelve friends and we'd like you to take our picture" instead of "hi, we're a group of twelve people with kick-ass superpowers and we'd like you to take our picture". I mean, yes, Adam is a logical choice for the photographer, since he doesn't appear to be in the photo, but the statement above just doesn't make any sense or provide any support for the theory. Now, if it was "the group is a secret organization and they wouldn't want to be associated with one another, so they couldn't use an outside photographer", I could see the point -- though of course neither the notion that it's a secret group nor that they all had powers is really confirmed in the show.--Hardvice (talk) 12:26, 8 November 2007 (EST)
- That's why I stay away from theory pages.--Bob (talk) 12:30, 8 November 2007 (EST)
- this has been mentioned before probably because i've seen the comparason pic of Adam and Mr Petrelli, but I am thinking that it could be Adam. I mean their profiles are oh so similar, so maybe Adam isn't taking the picture, maybe he is in it because he's Mr Petrelli. And if this is the case then we may know where Claire got her power from. -- peterforpresident talk contribs my rpg
- It's technically possible. They could have locked Adam up and told his kids he died. I guess we'll know for sure next week when we see Peter meet Adam. If he still has his memory and doesn't recognize him as his dad, we can finally put this one to rest. Really, it seems extremely unlikely given that we know Arthur's history of his time in Vietnam. His reactions to Linderman's power would be pretty pointless for a regenerating five-hundred-year-old, to say nothing of the fact that he wouldn't actually have needed Linderman to heal him.--Hardvice (talk) 15:18, 8 November 2007 (EST)
- Agree with Hardvice. No way without destroying our "temporary suspension of disbelief" could Adam be Arthur Petrelli. It would relegate the Graphic Novels into a category equal with fan creations as well as send Heroes into a "Days of Our Lives" parallel.--Mish 21:04, 9 November 2007 (EST)
- As much as I agree, it was never confirmed in the Graphic Novels if Sgt. Petrelli was Arthur Petrelli (or Nathan and Peter's father, or Angela's husband etc.) was it. So it could very well be that Arthur Petrelli is a different Petrelli entirely from Dallas. I don't think this is likely, but it is possible, and would explain the Adam Monroe = Arthur Petrelli but I just don't think so. Random guy 21:12, 9 November 2007 (EST)
- Maybe Nathan's just mistaken since the figure's face was a blur. I read somewhere that Adam had been locked up by The Company for [30?] years. Arthur died with a heart attack in the episode Six Months Ago (roughly only ten months ago, if my calculations are correct)?--Rnav1234 22:05, 9 November 2007 (EST)
- I don't know how it's not confirmed. In part 1, Dallas gets a letter from home talking about his son taking his first steps. In part 6, he's clearly in Angela's home -- it's decorated identically to the show. His wife is clearly Angela. His infant son is present, and Jason Badower acknowledged that the kid was "baby Nathan". He meets with Linderman and introduces himself as Petrelli. It would take some major weirdness for him to not be Angela's husband and at least Nathan's putative father.--Hardvice (talk) 00:02, 10 November 2007 (EST)
- I read through Part 1 and 6, they are both about Hana, the GN'sou were talking about were 2 and 5, and it still didn't say it was Angela. I completely agree with you that this is unlikely, I am just playing devil's advocate I guess.Random guy 02:21, 10 November 2007 (EST)
- Some of these theories are just silly. The TV Show and Graphic Novels never actually SAY Peter isn't really Patricia, Nathans little sister that had a sex change. But I think the possibilities of that little scenario ever making it into a script and on TV is pretty remote, even though never truly impossible. I guess Tim Kring could have a nervous breakdown or something...--Mish 20:45, 13 November 2007 (EST)
