The Powered Legion is a new branch of the United States Military, employing exclusively Specials.

History

The Powered Legion was established by President Nathan Petrelli on August 31, 2011. He was introduced to the first squad on September 6. Though he authorized full deployment, the single squadron was the entirety of the Legion at the time. Because Specials were recruited into the various branches of the military without any segregation, it was difficult to pull soldiers away from their comrades. U.S. Army Colonel Donald Kendrick was placed in charge of the Legion.

After the Sylar attack at Port Reyes Prison, control of the Legion was stolen away by Arthur Petrelli. Arthur used the last of Pinehearst's supply of Evolution shots to create 109 soldiers, who he used to further his own goals, which consisted off rounding up Specials across the world and imprisoning them in Titanhold, a maximum security prison for Specials, built by Pinehearst. Arthur absorbed the abilities of several of the prisoners there to make himself stronger.

After the Epidemic, the Powered Legion, now filled with unpowered soldiers, extended its help in building the Vises with the other branches of the military. The Legion was later dissolved, after existing for only a few weeks.

Notes

  • Soldiers in the Powered Legion are given rank designation that is equivalent to the rank in their previous branch. The Legion inherits the rank designation system of the U.S. Army, ignoring the distinction between PV1 and PV2.
