Mohinder drags the body of the drug dealer.
|Originally held by:||Mohinder Suresh (synthetic), Captain America (synthetic), Calvin (Stupendous Man)|
|Absorbed by:||Peter Petrelli|
|Ability to:||Possess peak human potential.|
Enhanced physiology is the ability to possess peak human potential.
- Mohinder Suresh is the first character to display this ability. (The Second Coming)
- Captain America gained this ability somehow.
- Peter Petrelli has reproduced this ability. (A Clear and Present Danger)
By injecting himself with a genetic modification formula, Mohinder acquired an artificially-induced ability with several effects. He initially described these abilities as being the next step in human evolution, while still remaining completely human, but has since said something has gone terribly wrong with the formula.
Mohinder first seemed to demonstrate simple enhanced strength: He crushes a gun with one hand, he jumps from a prone position to his feet, and he fights off two muggers (The Second Coming). The next day, he claims to have boundless energy and enhanced speed and agility, can easily hang upside down, and can fall from a height and land on his feet without getting hurt. He also claims to have heightened senses. Later, Mohinder's ability advanced further, granting him the ability to jump great bounds, as seen when he jumps straight through a window in the top of his lab with Maya in tow (Eris Quod Sum).
All in all, his initial limits seem to be enhanced strength, speed, agility, balance, stamina, and senses, as well as the ability to hang upside down for extended periods of time, and fall great heights without injury. Henceforth, he possesses peak human potential. Therefore, the name of his ability is enhanced physiology.
Adverse Side Effects
The injection has also produced less desirable effects, due to the fact that the formula lacked the Catalyst. The second morning after the injection, Mohinder's back showed peeling, weeping sores (The Butterfly Effect). By the events of Dying of the Light, these scales have spread to his forearms. His hands began to produce a thick green slime (Which he could use to climb walls; It has been confirmed that the slime was responsible for his wall-crawling, not his ability), and his behavior became more aggressive and erratic. He snapped harshly at Maya and beat his neighbor with little provocation. He also showed an aversion to bright lights and his veins started to pulsate abnormally (The Butterfly Effect).
Four years in the future, the effects of the formula mutated Mohinder into something barely human, forcing him to conceal himself when Peter comes to visit him. He states that he "got it wrong," implying that the formula he created was not the correct one to grant people abilities. This future version of Mohinder has an intense aversion to light and seems to have brown, scaled hands. Slime seemed to cover much of the wall in the loft (I Am Become Death).
Current Limits, Post-Curing
Months after being cured, Mohinder only displayed enhanced strength, enabling him to rip the door off of his cab and strike a man with it (A Clear and Present Danger). He also was capable of taking a jillion taser shots without passing out in some episode I'll remember later.
After coming in physical contact with Mohinder, Peter was able to break free of metal restraints and knock down a government agent (A Clear and Present Danger). He has not demonstrated any other aspect of this ability before replacing it with another ability.
Captain America gained this ability synthetically. He is strong enough to throw his shield hard enough so it can bounce off three walls and still have lethal force. His healing rate is also great enough to render him more or less immune to all drugs and diseases.
Calvin (Stupendous Man)
As Stupendous Man, Calvin is stong enough to carry a giant telescope lense with seemingly no effort. His hearing is also developed enough to enable him to hear distress calls from miles away (How he pinpoints this effect is unknown.).
Certain aspects of his psychology seems enhanced, as well. He claimed to be capable of instantaneously reading several pages of text. He also claimed to have "superhuman powers of reasoning."
Based on a below quote, he seems to imply to also be immortal.
The following abilities are byproducts of this ability:
- Peak speed.
- Enhanced jumping (As a byproduct of a below byproduct, enhanced strength).
- Enhanced olfaction.
- Enhanced strength.
- Enhanced hearing.
- Telescopic vision.
Mohinder's ability includes the ability to hang upside down for extended periods of time without adverse effects...
(The Butterfly Effect)
(A Clear and Present Danger)
...and great leaping ability.
(Eris Quod Sum)
"My senses are heightened. I'm stronger, faster, more agile. I have boundless energy. I'm a new man!"
"Ha! Stupendous Man has the strength of a million mortal men!"
- - Calvin
- After injecting himself with the genetic modification formula, Mohinder seems to drink copious amounts of chocolate milk. (The Butterfly Effect)
- On his blog, Greg Beeman said, "Suresh displays his new 'bug-like' powers". He also said, "Suresh was to bug-crawl up the wall" and "The writers gave us [some info] about where this bug power was going."
- According to Heroes Interactive, the scabs on Mohinder's back are actually made from colored potato chips.
