Tracy's ability

Not only she can become water, she can also freeze from distance - without sprinklers raining everywhere. What's Tracy's ability exactly? AltesUTC CH

• I think what happened in Cold Snap caused her ability to mutate or grow stronger. She was able to reform herself after being shattered and it was confirmed to be Tracy there. I think her ability grew to the point where she no longer had to touch things to freeze them (Micah's grew to the point where could command his laptop in One of Us, One of Them without touching it) and I think her ability somehow mutated for her to have that water ability or that was Barbra teamed up with Tracy.--WarGrowlmon18 13:17, 8 September 2009 (EDT)
  • I, for one, think that Tracy's ability always been water manipulation (or something like that), allowing her control over states of water and even allowing her to become it. She first manifested it as freezing, then it slowly evolved towards what we see now, much like Matt first had only Telepathy and it became more. --Ikkian 15:26, 8 September 2009 (EDT)
    • Tracy's ability has always been freezing. That's a name from a canon source (see this page in Nathan's files). It's not a question of what we call the ability, it's a question of understanding what she can do with it. The limits of the ability have either changed, or they have expanded beyond our original understanding.       • I know you'll probably tell me that this belongs on a theory page but, I think lots of abilities run into each other and can develop into each other (like candice started out with illusion, matt with telepathy, matt was able to develop into illusion but candice never learned to read minds). --mc_hammark 15:32, 8 September 2009 (EDT)
        • Telepathy has a much broader possibilities than illusion, it's quite an umbrella ability. For me, I think we might have to consider renaming Tracy's ability in the future, in-canon, they've called her ability "freezing" because that's the only thing she could do.       • Hold it, Ryan, that ability name come from Nathan, and both he and Tracy knew of only the "freezing" aspect of the ability (or at the very least, that what the narrative leads us to believe). The true nature of the ability and all it's limits clearly isn't just freezing anymore, though we are sill loosely bound by naming conventions to call it freezing. --SacValleyDweller (talk) 01:06, 9 September 2009 (EDT)
        • Right, that's my point. I think there's a lot more to the ability than just being able to freeze things. Well, obviously there is! :) But in response to Ikkian, her ability has not always been water manipulation, but has always been freezing. It's just a matter of understanding the full limits of that ability. It's kind of like Matt's ability is called telepathy, though he can do so many things that traditional telepaths can't do. It's about redefining what "freezing" means, not renaming Tracy's ability. -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 01:17, 9 September 2009 (EDT)
          • I agree with Ryan here, just think about it, in the past Tracy could only Freeze things, but now she became frozen herself. What happens when Ice melts? It becomes water. Tracy became Ice, so it's kinda logical (in a very weird absurd way) that she'd defreeze into water. After she managed to do that, it was just a matter of training for her to do it whenever she wants to. -- Smouvy 14:00, 9 September 2009 (GMT)
            • Thing is, we can't really redefine what freezing means. Telepathy is broader both in name and in ability, freezing as it is can be broader as far as the ability goes, but as far as the name goes, it becomes rather inaccurate referring to melting yourself as "freezing".             • I agree with IE. Those 'canon' sources mean nothing because they were written before Tracey's Ability evolved. Besides, I'm sure those canon sources were written by Nathan or Danko; when did they become the expert on powers a person manifested? They merely saw an aspect of her power and made the assumed that was the extent of it. Tracey being able to turn into and travel via ice and water is outside of the parameters of what freezing is defined as. --Halfxwitted 15:15, 10 September 2009 (EDT)
