Joseph is a Muslim terrorist who recruits Amid Halebi for a plot to generate a nuclear explosion.

Joseph watches Amid Halebi as he prays.
Later, after Amid is captured after almost committing suicide, Joseph questions Amid. He tells him no girl can come between the two, and that he needs Amid's help to assemble a device.
