About

Godsend

After she turns herself in to the authorities, Niki is incarceratated in a Nevada jail. During her first two weeks, Jessica takes over, threatening and beating guards. Niki meets with her lawyer in the facility, and he believes she is psychotic. Later, D.L. and Micah visit, and D.L. phases through the visitation window to comfort his wife. When Niki is denied the privilege of holding her son, she gets angry, and a guard's baton is snapped in two. Niki is placed in a padded white room with no cellmate save Jessica.

The Fix

Niki stews straitjacketed inside her padded cell and is given an injection. Dr. Witherson comes to visit her and requests to visit Jessica, but is met with Niki's refusal. Later, D.L. clandestinely enters the cell, and they discuss parenting practices. Niki meets with Dr. Witherson in a separate room, and seems more open to the doctor's suggestions.

Distractions

Niki has a session with Dr. Witherson in which a metronome is used for her to meditate. The metronome reminds Niki that when they were kids Jessica used to play the piano, and Niki would take her sheet music and play connect the dots with crayons. Jessica then took over and took Dr. Witherson's taser and beat the ever lovin' crap out of her. Niki comes to, sees what happened, the guards enter (including broken nose) and they incapacitate her and take her back to her cell. Later, one of Linderman's people enters her cell and tells Niki she's been exhonerated of all charges. Linderman framed a guy already on death row for all the murders Jessica was responsible for, and now Niki could return home a free woman but she argues against this and demands remaining in her padded cell. The Linderman operative made it very clear she gets no say in the matter. Last scene we see is Micah asking Niki to play scrabble with him. Jessica looks into the mirror and we see that Niki is now trapped behind the mirror.

Notes

• It is unclear whether or not Dr. Witherson works for the prison facility or if she is an outsourced employee.
