The series begins as the different characters discover their abilities, including Claire, the high school cheerleader who can not die, Nathan, a politician whos brother Peter claims he can fly, and other people with super-human abilities; Hiro, Niki, and Isaac. Also introduced is Mohinder, who is following his father's work after his death.

Don't Look Back

Original Air Date: 2 October 2006
Some characters have problems accepting the fact that they are in fact more than human. Hiro is lead to meet a dead Isaac, and realizes he traveled forward in time, and sees the future of New York City; an explosion that consumes the entire city. Matt, a cop who can hear what people say before they say it, is introduced and runs into trouble with his ability. The "villain" of the series is revealed to be Claire's father.

One Giant Leap

Hiro and Ando travel to the US. Nathan publicly upsets Peter for apparent political gain. Claire ends up in an uncomfortable situation and Matt sees a mysterious man with an unknown power. Meanwhile, Mohinder discovers a strange apartment and Niki struggles to take care of Micah.
