*** Not positive this is your only problem, but you were copying code from either Template:Linderman or Template:Pinehearst, which included the afd template. I just made you a user template for your navbar, so now you just have to plug in "<nowiki>{{User:Catalyst/Catalyst pages}}</nowiki>" wherever you want to see that navbar on your user pages.--[[User:MiamiVolts|MiamiVolts]] ([[User_talk:MiamiVolts|talk]]) 17:13, 22 February 2009 (EST)

Welcome to Heroes Wiki!

Here are a few links to get you started:

  • If you are new to Heroes, you might want to start at the New User Portal.
  • If you're not too familiar with editing wikis, you might like to start with Help:Editing.
  • If you already are familiar with wikiediting, you might want to try Help:Style.
  • If you're ready to get started, Template:Todo lists some ways you can help out.
  • Of course, if you have your own idea for a new article, that's great, too.
  • Recent Changes will let you see others' contributions as they happen.
    • To make Recent Changes more useful for all users, remember to provide an edit summary in the Summary field before you save your changes.
    • You can set the wiki to prompt you for a summary in your preferences.
  • When posting on an article's Talk page you should add --~~~~ or click the signature button.
    • This will add a signature and timestamp to the end of your comment so others can easily tell who posted it.
    • Any new sections on an article's Talk page should be added to the bottom of the page and not to the top.
    • When editing normal article pages, don't sign your contributions.
  • If you have any questions or need any help, please feel free to leave a message for an administrator.
  • You can also customize your user page if you like.

Once again, welcome to Heroes Wiki!

Images

Can you please stop changing the main power images, you need to see if people agree with your choice of picture before changing it. Thanks --laughingdevilboy 13:39, 21 January 2009 (EST)

  • Thanks for listening to me :) just thought I would tell you that you could create your own page with the images you like for powers on. I have done something similar. --laughingdevilboy 14:11, 21 January 2009 (EST)

Your userpage edits...

Hey, Catalyst, I've noticed you've been editing your userpage alot. It's taking up the recent changes page entirely and is making it hard to navigate. Can I make a suggestion? Rather than editing your page a million times, use the preview button. If something doesn't look right, edit it and preview it again, and continue until you have what you're looking for. Thanks. =]--Riddler 10:37, 23 January 2009 (EST)

Image sources

Hey there, Catalyst. I nominated your recent images for deletion because they have no source. This violates our license. As well, your images are missing categories. If they're for personal use, feel free to add [[Category:User Images]] to them. If you have any questions, let me know. Thanks! -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:33, 16 February 2009 (EST)

  • Sorry about that. I'm still kind of new to this. How exactly should I do this? Catalyst 18:36, 16 February 2009
    • No worries. Where did you get the images from? -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 18:40, 16 February 2009 (EST)
      • I got the image from the smallville wiki. Catalyst 18:54, 16 February 2009
        • I think there's more than one that needs to be updated. They look like screenshots. If they're screenshots (from aired episodes, for example), add
          {{image-screenshot}}<br>(from ''Smallville'')
. If they're promotional images (released by the CW), add
          {{image-promotional}}<br>(from ''Smallville'')
. Also, don't forget to add the user images category (see above post) and then you can remove the afd template. Hope that helps. :) -- RyanGibsonStewart (talk) 19:02, 16 February 2009 (EST)

Non-Heroes characters/abilities

Hello, when you make pages for characters that do not appear in the show, please make the article as 'User:Catalyst/<article name>'. That way the content is in your userspace, as the content isn't part of Heroes. Likewise, the articles for Pyrokinetic-Radiation and Sonny have been moved to User:Catalyst/Pyrokinetic-Radiation and User:Catalyst/Sonny for you.--MiamiVolts (talk) 15:03, 22 February 2009 (EST)

  • I'm not sure why you just recreated the Pyrokinetic-Radition article. It already exists in your userspace, just make sure you type 'User:Catalyst/<article name>' and not 'User:Catalyst:/<article name>' (note the extra : you are putting after your username; adding that extra : makes it not your userspace).--MiamiVolts (talk) 15:19, 22 February 2009 (EST)

Removing content from talk pages

Please stop removing content from public talk pages, and especially from other users' talk pages. Thanks. -Sincerely, Thrashmeister » talk- 16:30, 22 February 2009 (EST)

This message keeps coming up telling me to delete any page that leads to my user page so i am allowed to add something to it.--Catalyst

  • Where are you getting that message, Catalyst?--MiamiVolts (talk) 16:36, 22 February 2009 (EST)
    • On my user page.--Catalyst
      • That's very strange. Can you copy/paste the message word for word? When does it appear? -Sincerely, Thrashmeister » talk- 16:42, 22 February 2009 (EST)
        • It only appears when i put in what i want to put in on my home page. I don't really want to put it in to look at the message. I'm afraid i'll be to late and it will delete my stuff.--Catalyst
          • That is very odd. Can you put it at Heroes Wiki:Sandbox so we can see what you are talking about? Also, you might want to sign your messages.--MiamiVolts (talk) 16:50, 22 February 2009 (EST)

how?--Catalyst

  • Ok, I just removed the afd from your userpage. It looks like you copied it from another page that was marked for deletion. Please let me know if it you still have problems with it.--MiamiVolts (talk) 17:00, 22 February 2009 (EST)
    • Yep, still having trouble. Did you see what page it was that was marked?--Catalyst
      • Not positive this is your only problem, but you were copying code from either Template:Linderman or Template:Pinehearst, which included the afd template. I just made you a user template for your navbar, so now you just have to plug in "{{User:Catalyst/Catalyst pages}}" wherever you want to see that navbar on your user pages.--MiamiVolts (talk) 17:13, 22 February 2009 (EST)
        • Thanks, but i didn't copy any of those templates. What i did copy was that big black bar that relate to sylar pages.--Catalyst
