GN ability classification

I take it you dont read the GNs much. I do, and admittedly, some of the abilities there aren't very clear cut as to which they are, as they aren't shown much in the few pages that a GN is. At first stab, Omnilingualism, Sound absorption, Mediumship, Nerve gas emission, and Lung adaptation are passive, the rest are active. Consensus for move to main namespace

• Since it looks like there's desire to move this to the main namespace, let's open up discussion to determine if there's consensus. The article name will need to be changed first to "Active & passive abilities" I believe in order to fit in with our naming convention. Other than the first word we don't capitalize words unless they're proper nouns. Other than that I'd only like to see some more support for the move and then I think it would be possible. I'm a little concerned about the maintainability of the article since it will need to be updated for each new ability. I suspect this article will fall out of date in time.     • Yes, we should use "and" for titles unless the ampersand is part of a proper name. Also, I doubt that "Bliss and horror" is a passive ability. One thing to consider is whether some of the other abilities mentioned such as "nerve gas emission" are also passive abilities. Since we only have one reference, we are making a rather large assumption. Something that could probably be done to help maintain this, if we want to keep this, is to make it autoupdate from the ability pages themselves by adding an extra field to each ability's infobox and using DPL on this page to grab the values. However, the split that is currently made between mental, physical, etc. is definitely a theory (see Theory:Abilities by Dr. Suresh's category), so it needs to be removed.--MiamiVolts (talk) 03:49, 30 March 2009 (EDT)
