However, the writers dropped it due to plot holes. • Little is known about Meredith's affairs to previously meeting Nathan. - It is unlikely that, upon meeting her long-lost daughter, Meredith would not tell her about her sister. + Meredith did not tell Claire who her father was, so it is quite unlikely that she would of told her about her sister. - Unlike Claire and Meredith, Elle does not have an ability that would help her survive the fire. + Meredith could have conceived Elle a year or two before the fire making Elle slightly older than Claire which in reality is plausible. Elle started the fire that Meredith and Claire supposedly died in.	None.	+ In Four Months Ago..., Elle told Peter that she started a fire at her grandmother's house when she was 6. Elle also said that she was 24, making the incident 18 years ago. This comes within a year of Claire's birth timeline, possible overlapping it if facts are slightly inaccurate. Meredith would have been a reasonably young mother (around 20), and as stated in the graphic novel Hell's Angel she was living in an apartment complex, where many members of the same family can live. If this was Elle's grandmother's residence, Claire and Elle would at least be cousins, if not sisters. - Hell's Angel heavily implies that Meredith started the fire. As Claude said, "the bitch blew up!" + Kristen Bell has stated that Elle and Claire share a deep relationship. • Claire's grandmother is Angela. If Elle is a sister or cousin to Claire who is Meredith's daughter, then one of the Petrelli's must of fathered Elle. - If Elle is Meredith's daughter or niece then she could be referring to her grandmother on Meredith's side of the family, not the Petrellis. - The character with pyrokinesis is more likely to cause a fire than the character with induced lightning. - Lightning may cause electrical fires (Example: Peter's shirt ignites as Elle blasts him. (Four Months Ago)) - Elle says that she set her grandmother's house on fire (Four Months Ago...). Meredith was Claire's mother, but Elle is older than Claire is.

For Elle to generate a non-nuclear EMP, she'd probably need additional equipment. - Elle has never exhibited this ability.

As that possible future will be prevented in some way. + Elle has been killed off in the new timeline. + Noah had much lighter hair than his father, indicating that Noah's mother may have had blond hair, not unlike Elle. + Elle seems to trust HRG - enough to go looking for him to help her get control over her powers. In the wake of her father's death, Elle may see HRG as a new father figure and may have been the person who named Noah in his honor. + Elle and Sylar had sex. (The Eclipse, Part 2) - Elle also died. (The Eclipse, Part 2) + Elle can still be Noah Gray's mother only if the timeline containing that future already branched off of the current timeline prior to Elle's death. None.	+ Elle's infatuation with Peter and his ability to use her powers (which appears to be his favorite for fighting) could have caused her to inadvertently sync her electrical abilities with his making him the plus to her minus. When he lost his powers, hers went haywire. - Elle doesn't seem to be infatuated with Peter anymore. They haven't seen each other for months, and when Elle saw Peter fall out of the building, she just ran off instead of helping him. - Elle's loss of control seemed to begin after Sylar's attack on her at Primatech Research. - Claire's powers began to malfunction way before Peter lost his powers.
Elle's loss of control over her own powers could be related to Sylar's attack on her.	None.	+ Elle's didn't start to lose her powers until after the fight. Maybe Sylar trying to remove her skull caused her ability to somehow leak out of her. + Claire's powers also began to malfunction immediately after Sylar attacked her. - Claire's power isn't malfunctioning, but allowing her not to feel pain. It's just a new found addition to the ability. + After Sylar helped her express herself, she regained control of her ability. (It's Coming) + Elle has been through many emotional experiences, this could cause her to lose control of her ability. + Powers can be affected by powerful emotions, such as Hiro's powers failing him when he lost confidence. It's possible the death of her father and the end of the only life she's known is why she's now unable to control her power. Thus, it could be related to, but not directly caused by, Sylar's attack.
Elle's power is synthetic and her sudden loss of control is due to the fact that she was injected with an imperfect version of the formula.	None.	+ Elle said they did testing on her, also HRG said when she was brought in she was a just a normal girl. - By normal he meant happy, not a psychopath, he also mentioned them wanting to know how much electricity she could generate, implying she manifested an ability quite early in life. - Elle's ability manifested during her childhood, all characters confirmed to have synthetic abilities manifested only in adulthood. + This could only be because Elle was forced to manifest her ability by her father when he did testing on her. + Perhaps she is a second generation synthetic, as Claire is. The first generation synthetics (Nathan, Niki, etc.) seem to function fine. If they have children together, the formula may become unpredictable (as it has with Claire).
Elle's loss of control of her power is related to the electrical blast that came from her body when Sylar tried to take her power. We did not see the real Elle at the end of The Eclipse, Part 2.	None.	+ Elle was acting extremely out of character in the last scene. She flinched. She slept with the man earlier in that day, flipped out when she thought he died, but then she flinches when he touches her? And, last time he tried to kill her, she exploded. This time, not even a zap? Something doesn't add up here. • Elle flinched because Sylar was hurting her. When she told Sylar, he replied, "I know". + How did Elle get to the beach? We didn't see Hiro transport her there. As far as we know, he has to go with someone when he transports them. Plus, he still thinks he's ten. - We did see Hiro transport her, from the Bennet house. We didn't actually see him appear at the beach end of the transport, but he most likely did it so quickly that we just didn't see him.
Elle came back to life.	None.	+ Elle could be pregnant and her baby has the ability to survive, so Elle has the ability while she's pregnant, and she came back to life after being incinerated by Sylar. - There's no confirmation that she was pregnant, and while there were plans of storylines that involved Elle pregnant, there's no confirmation Elle was pregnant at the time of her death. - It is not know if her baby has some ability to survive. - It is not known if a mother has a baby's ability while pregnant. + No embryo can survive without his mother, since the baby's life is attached to his mother's life. If the mother dies, the baby dies as well, so the baby must guarantee his mother's life so he can be alive too. - There would be no reason to wait until after being incinerated to come back to life. She would most likely have come back to life right after being killed. + No healing is instantaneous, and it could take some time to connect the baby with his mother's system to give his ability to her. - Even though healing has been shown as not instantaneous, it usually happens fairly quickly. • Is this "ability to survive" actually the "ability to heal"? + If the baby has the ability to survive, since he can't live without his mother, he has to share it with his mother. - If the baby has the ability to survive, it wouldn't need its mother. - Even if the alleged baby had an ability, Elle would have been pregnant for how long? A couple hours? At this point a baby would still be just a bunch of cells, and not a complex organism that could account for an ability. - Yes, there would be no brain yet. The brain appears to be where abilities are manifested from. + About the brain - remember Claire survives when she was a baby and it's a fact that the brain is not completely developed in a baby. So what really matters is the DNA, and if the baby's DNA can connect somehow with Elle's nervous system, it's her brain that will activate all the healing processes. - Even though Claire's brain wasn't fully developed as a baby, it is still a functioning brain. A cluster of cells has no brain at all. - There is no evidence that Claire had healing powers as a baby.
